Voice Cast Needed

Greetings.

So, I'm interested in making my .hack fan-game really professional, and I've decided that, if possible, I would like to add a voice cast.
I thought I'd advertise the open positions here first.

So, first off, here is the project page.

A list of characters is below. There is a minor SPOILER in this list. In each character profile I will include the voice type I am looking for and some test lines. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested, and I will arrange it so you can send me voice samples.


Main Characters:


Albireo-A solo player whose character is a long arm. He is somewhat stern. He is also the captain, and his real identity is Watarai.
Voice type: Male, Mid-to-late-twenties, High Baritone
Test lines:

"According to regulations, this NPC is recognized as an irregular Non-Player Character that is not in the specifications of the Japanese version of The World."

Delivery: business-like fashion. Calm and cool, distanced.

"This creature has several types of attacks it can breathe on them. Each one has additional side effects including paralysis, poison, or one that lowers their offensive or defensive powers. Worst yet, it’s a ranged attack."

Delivery: Knowledgeable explanation while watching an intense battle, some minor surprise has caused him to be caught up in the battle.

Hokuto-A newbie player whose character is a wavemaster. She's rather bubbly, to the point of being annoying. While she plays a teenage character online, in the real world she is a translator in her thirties.
Voice Type: Female, Teenage and early thirties, High Alto
Test Lines:

"Save the pleasantries and kill this thing!"

Delivery: Exasperated, pseudo-hysterical.

"We’ll place a sofa here, get pink curtains, maybe some throw rugs…oh, and over there we can put a fountain, or maybe a statue."

Delivery: Read it like a list, somewhat bubbly and enthusiastic.

Lycoris-A non player character. She is rather mysterious. She is a little girl, but the game doesn't feature a character model like hers.
Voice Type: female, young, high alto
Test lines:

"Are you going to delete me?"

Delivery: youthful, but mature

Orca-An enthusiastic roleplayer whose character is a blademaster. He loves the game in a lighthearted, honest way.
Voice type: male, early twenties, mid-baritone
Test Lines:

"I suggest that we should, er, well, that is…why don’t we exchange member addresses?"

Delivery: Sheepish, but friendly.

Balmung-a serious player whose character is a blademaster.
Voice type: male, early twenties, mid/deep baritone
Test lines:

"If he’s a solo player, you shouldn’t force him to join us."

Delivery: Annoyed, but calm.

Errand Girl-a rookie at CC Corp. Her boss can't remember her name.
Voice type: female, early twenties, low alto, smoker, rough
Test lines:

"I heard you participated in localizing the Japanese version of The World. Is that true?"

Delivery: Genuine Curiosity

I find this idea somewhat interesting, since I'm a fan of MMORPGs and I'm also familiar with the .hack franchise. I dunno if my laptop's microphone is really up to the task, but I suppose I should give those male voices a try at least. I'll try posting file links on a later time if it works out. In any case, good luck with all that, I think that aiming high is at least recommendable.

(yeah... I doubt that a amateur quality mic that a person might have for, say gaming will really do the job. While you can hear the words, there's no personality in the voice tone. 'blaming the equipment, pathetic...')

I'm no voice actor, but when I'm looking for a voice cast, I go to voice acting forums. There's at least a couple of major ones, Voice Acting Alliance is the first that comes to mind. You'll find some great actors with demo reels to browse through, and many will be willing to work for credit or scale.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about voice acting until your game's 99% complete. Maybe cast your parts early, but don't put them to work until the script's locked down. Because even minor rewrites to your dialog means a potentially massive amount of re-recording work for your VAs.

i would like to do it! however i am currently trying to regain my old computer back, because the mic on the one im using sucks! but i can show you a video i did for a fandub for a series...Im not sure if i was casted, because the owner never posted results but... here's the video...XD It was for the world god only knows fandub so yeah XD i can also do an.. "emotionless female" and " a happy go lucky" but i have yet to record them

I am interested in being Balmung's VA. I do consider myself Sheepish yet friendly. I am not sure if my voice is exactly what you are looking for, but I would like to send you a sample via email from my somewhat bad internal mic with my somewhat bad voice. I'm not sure the direction you want for his line, but let me know and I'll try.

Also, if you want a sound effects or a proofreader, I can try to help there as well.
