No, seriously, it's kind of nice, even though I first was irritated that it was in second person ^^
The character style is something I had to get used to it first, but they look likeable once you look at them a bit (I'm just too anime-infected, I guess xD).
The many choices make you think that you could do something wrong, the first choice was so extremly hard I stared at it for two minutes. Not mentioning I love to make the main figureas first go to the bad endings (seriously becoming a depressiv, never outdoming drunk? xDDD)

No, but you should definitly work on this! It's fun and I would love to see the other characters in action (and seriously, Alex is hot )

@Destiny - Thanks so much for checking out the demo and for your feedback! It's very helpful to see what I'm doing right and wrong.

I guess this game has become a bit of an experiment to see how players will be able to respond to a non-anime, non 1st person, BB game. I hope you enjoy the whole game when it's released in July...I've upgraded the artwork, Nuxill's been working on the GUI, there's actually music, and more.

I even got paranoid, thinking it was my computer xD

But yeah, please work hard on this, it can become really great.

Maybe a little hint from someone who is really perfectionistic about art:
The color is often over the outlines, making the character art looking kind of hasty ("I don't want to work on this anymore, let's keep it like that"). It can be some kind of your style, but at least I was really irritated (but I'm also kind of strict about art, so you can propably ignore this xD)


Then I will wait anxiously for July

As for the art work, the sprites (and backgrounds) are completely updated so they look like the ones at the top of the thread: http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... 43&t=14743.

The demo has all the messy sprites I did before I learned more about GIMP. I hope the new ones are clean and polished enough. Let me know what you think.

You can keep it like that without a problem (as a hint in case your still making some characters: make the character appear before a black and a darkblue background. The first will show EVERYTHING and the second will show what you can see when there is a "normal" background. It helps finding real color problems (not only coloring over the outlines, but also when you have transparent parts IN the character)

Maybe let some beta tester play a short part from your game with the music you took. I noticed, if you testhear your music too often alone, you get too critical.
Let friends or strangers play a part of your game and hear their judgment. Could be it is totally ok and you just BELIEVE it is too extreme.

Would it be okay to post some wips of the GUI? At least the main page? It's a lot different from what Obscura's seen because I keep finding things that I want to tweak to make it look more professional.

I've even made a semi-logo for Obscurasoft games! It's a wip as well... lots of tweaking to do. I'm currently deciding if it should just be "Obscurasoft" or if I should add the "Games" part.
