Real Instruments!

#1 Post by TheSnowflakeOfDoom » Sun Apr 29, 2012 5:06 pm

I didn't know what to put for the title....
I posted about recruitment a while back, but honestly, I am no composer, so scrap that! I want to play your music!!!
But yeah, Since I am back at school, I have access to an orchestra, and a pretty awsome recording studio 8)
And my favorite flute broke, so I couln't get anything done....... IT'S FIXED NOW!~ Yay for fluticus tooticus~

So yes, I am more than happy to record (almost) every instrument, and any lenght or type of music!
But, because I am saving up to go to Italy (And I'm a poor, jobless 14 year-old T-T) It will cost a small bit of money,
I may be young, but I have all the right contacts! I will post samples of what I can do tomorrow (I play the flute, bassoon, recorder, and piano) So I will record samples of them! Not only that! I have access to A WHOLE ORCHESTRA!!!
YAY!!!
I will do all my own editing for free! I feel really bad asking for money, so It's the least I can do!

I am thinking something like £1 an instrument? Maybe £2 for stuff like piano, harp, drums ext
But I guess it depends on the sheet music!
If you want, send me the sheet music, and I will play the first few bars of it! Then you can see if you like it or not!
If you want a piece played, but have no sheet music, I am happy to accept MP3'S and MIDI'S as well! It might take longer though!
I am also happy to do stuff for free if it's interesting~ I LOVE interesting games and music bonus points if you put them together~ :3

I don't really have anything immidiate to show you guys today.... I have a picture of me playing the piano?
But yes, Tomorrow I will record some stuff for you, anything you guys want in paticular? I can play the Ievan Polkka on the bassoon really well~ MUHAHA LEEK POWER~ :3

Pretty cheap pricing for performance recordings. Lowest I usually recommending a performer to do is no less than $50 USD for a single track/instrument. If you and/or the other performers are good, and the quality of the recordings are high enough, then you should definitely consider raising those prices(and posting demoes).

I don't have much use for live instrumentation at the moment but if and when I'll give a shout if the clips you post are something that peak my interest.

Tootles,
Zack

Ahah, Zack is right about the low price, but that'd be ok as "first tries", as a kind of honing.

When you'll have a demo, post it, that way people will be able to know for what they use their money.
That's a really interesting offer if the recording quality is good enough - currently I haven't any project needing that but be sure that when it will happen I'll be glad to work with you.

Can you post a demo – either in video or plain audio file – of the full orchestra?
I'm interested in how good this sounds.

You mention an awesome studio; I assume this is for solo or band-recordings, not for the entire orchestra?

To end, I'd just like to know whether you can do electronic music as well (use of VST's, DAW, ...).

Looking forward to hearing you!

Real instruments don't have filter knobs.

Does playing a sine-wave with a bassoon count? :(

I guess the price is cheap, but it is free for me to use, so it is more of a free-time thing!
As for demos and stuff, I have The OC's California (In which I star with my flute 8) )
And I am happy to record pretty much any song (As long as it isn't torture for us musicans... OUR POOR HANDS  )
So yes, I have sound engineering class in two hours, I'll have demos posted then!
Thankyou for all your replies!~

The studio is awesome because it is purple and has REALLY cool equiptment :D (I get really happy over those little things!)
To record the orchestra, we just gather the primary instruments (Violin, flute, oboe, viola, cello, ext) Then go in one at a time and record our parts sepratley, then layer them up, making it sound like a full orchestra!
The demo I could give for that would probably be Pachelbel's canon, because we just played that :3

Yes! We can also record electronic music too! But that is a heck of a lot more difficult, but we can!

I'd need to get a few friends together, but sure! I'll do that ASAP! (Although trying to get a bunch of teenagers all at the same time is difficult T-T)

Anyone know how to get a sound file off of Protools, from a Mac to a normal computer? I ran out of blank disks ouo

*Sigh* I really need to learn to work modern computers.... I'll get someone else (Who knows what they're doing) to do it.... BEAR WITH ME! (I hate technology.....)
And about the Orchestral extract, so far I have ready:
An Oboe
A Bassoon
2 flutes
A Violin

Now to write up some sheet music....
