How to Make a Video Recording of Game Playthrough

Not sure if this is the right section to ask, but I really want to know.

Is there any program that would let me record playthrough of the game made in ren'py (or any other game, but the one I want to record is made in renpy)?

There are special softwares that do that. Well, it actually records everything displayed on your monitor, including your game (RenPy or whatever). But I keep forgetting the software name. I believe it's been discussed before in LSF too so you can search it. Or you can google it.

I'm not sure if FRAPS will work. It may not worked in windowed mode on Windows XP. It may work with Vista and Seven with Aero theme enabled. May or may not work in full screen.

I do not think this program works officially for Mac or Linux.

I use FRAPS(3.4 Version) all the time to re-record some of my sound in Renpy, works like a charm. Though, I do have windows 7, so I'm not sure if it does work for XP.

If the original poster is still looking for recorded software, you can try hypercam as well... But no one 'really' likes to use hypercam in the first place anyway, so forget I said anything.

I have also used FRAPS to record Ren'py games. It creates very big uncompressed files, but the quality is great.

I also tried CamStudio for a little bit (it's free!), but the video seemed to lag a bit.

I used BB Flashback Express, after multiple fails of varying kinds.
Couldn't capture sound with Fraps, couldn't get the full game window with Camstudio... I tried many things, but BBFE worked like a charm.

Unfortunately overflow doesn't seem to consider ren'py a game, so it won't record it.

FRAPS lags my screen... T.T, but thanks for the suggestion.
