In my game, the waitress says "Welcome to Uncle Mugen's, where the food is infinite!" (Although, if you ask her, she admits the food is not actually infinite, and the portions are actually a little too small.) She also accidentally sets the kitchen on fire, and you can either help out, or the place burns to the ground...

That's rad.

It took me a couple of months, but I just released my first visual novel, using lots of the backgrounds from this thread!

Hello, everybody!

I just dropped by here to thank Uncle Mugen for the resources in this thread. I have used some of those backgrounds in a personal (and non-commercial) project: not a Visual Novel, in this case, but the setting of a Tabletop Roleplaying Game which, for now, remains systemless (but if all goes well, it shouldn't do it for long). In this place, I talk about it a little more, and there is the link for the most current version of the document.

I should point out that English is my second language, and I had the audacity (recklessness?) to write the document from scratch in that language ... something that will surely show in the result (although, now that I think about it, the part I'm working on now is being translated from my native language, and I don't think it will end too much better only because of that! )

Just passing by to comment that the 'systemless' setting for a Tabletop Roleplaying Game I mentioned in the previous post isn't systemless anymore, and it's now a full Tableto RPG. In fact, I've even completed a Companion for it...which also includes some Uncle Mugen backgrounds as part of the art. Again, thank you very much! All the documentes can be found here, with a more detailed description.

[Funnily enough, even if the final product has little to do with a Visual Novel, I would dare to say that there is some Visual Novel material in this setting (as there is quite an ammount of soap-opera elements in the setting chapters, specially in that Companion I have mentioned!); of course, it would be a really, really, weird Visual Novel, but...it's something]

I still have (and intend to use) the backgrounds you sent me years ago. Just need to get everything lined up and work out some corridor/room images for the mazes...

Uncle Mugen, thank you! Almost ten years later, and your backgrounds are still being put to great use.

If not for these, I would have had a much more difficult time in creating my very first visual novel. Your backgrounds were perfect for the aesthetic I was going for, and I am very thankful for them. I credited you as well! <3

You first released your assets in 2012 judging from your post.
And people still find use in your generous assets.
Like I did with my android game where I used one of your backgrounds.
