@lice [Progress update 10/7/2012]

[BRIDEA]

@lice is a somewhat kinetic novel. There's going to be VERY little user interaction. There is officially 5 different endings. You can actually get a game over really easily, so watch out.
The game is 7 days long. (I don't actually mean it would take you 7 days to play it XD That would be ridiculous. 7 days in-game time.)

<Story>

@lice is about Alice who wanders into her backyard forest, and finds a tree with a miniature door at the roots. She opens the door to look inside. Seeing she can't get through, finds a bottle of strange liquid on the ground. She picks it up and drinks it, and passes out, only to find herself immersed in the world she saw through the door.

<Characters>

Alice: A curious 8-year-old girl, already in an arranged marriage to a family friend's son, Terry. Alice doesn't feel protected unless she holds her stuffed rabbit, Dann, representing her sister's husband, Daniel. She looks to Daniel as an older brother.

Mary: Alice's older sister. Already 22 years old, she's married off to Daniel, which like Alice's marriage, was arranged by their family. She's really motherly, as Alice's and Mary's parents died soon after they had arranged Alice's marriage. Mary and Daniel both take care of Alice, and love her dearly. Mary is really environmental, and loves to garden.

Daniel: The 'man' around the house, he's usually "stuck" helping Mary with her garden work (digging holes, tilling the ground. While Mary "supervises"). Although he complains a lot, he does have a heart of pure gold. He often says the opposite of what he means. If he says "Alice, you're such a brat." he really means "Alice, you're the best!". Mary and Alice both know this about him, so they often laugh whenever he yells at them, never taking him seriously.

Terry: Alice's fiancee. Terry often visits the family manor and he plays with Alice in her toy room. Terry is often speaks in monotone. Doesn't really care for much except Alice and her family's wellness, and was almost as broken as Alice was when Alice's parents died. He's trained in swordfighting and archery. Alice says he makes the "perfect cup of tea".

Mad Hatter: The second-in-command of Wonderland, waiting patiently for Alice's return. The queen ordered the Mad Hatter to take Alice to her when he sees her, although because he's a rebel of the queen, he never listens to her anyway. Alice believes he bares a resemblance to Terry.

Queen of Wonderland: The sadistic queen. She hates mostly everything, even her own child, which the queen murdered. When Alice comes along, the queen hates her almost immediately. Maybe Alice could change this woman's heart? Alice believes she bares a resemblance to Mary.

White Rabbit: Alice believes he bares a strange resemblance to Daniel. The white rabbit is hyper-actively playful, unlike Daniel, and always says what he means. He works under the Hatter in a rebellion against the queen, although believes what the hatter is doing is wrong. Around the hatter, he makes it looks like he trusts the hatter, although he really doesn't.
