What is Accidental Demon Slayers?
Well, it's my first attempt at a VN. It's also a 'stock' game. I'm a writer, not an artist, and because it is cheaper to purchase stock art packs, I decided that I would form my story around the stock characters and backgrounds that I was able to find on sites like dlsite.com . That means the game has clean art, but also lacks event CGs.
The only non-stock material I'm using in the game is music. Currently I have fellow forum member ROCKYIII working on some songs for the game. If you need some music, and are will to pay, you really do get your money's worth
So, what's it about? *Updated!*
A young man survives a tentacle demon attack in coffee house, and in the process, finds out that he is host to a strong, supernatural force known as Judgement. With no other job prospects on the horizon, he decides to accept his "calling" and get into the demon slaying business. It's a job, right?
Now, only three months in he's finally landed his first big case. Two separate supernatural events have struck his home town.
First, the students at his old high school are acting strange. While many think the sudden aggressive moods are a reaction to the strange death of a fellow student, some think that something supernatural is causing the students to act out violently.
Second, several young women who work for a local youth shelter have gone missing while walking home through a local park. With the shelter being threatened with closure, the man running it calls in our hero to investigate. Are they looking for a human suspect, or is there some demonic force abducting these women?
While investigating our hero learns that everything seems to connect back to one long forgotten memory that may hold not only the answers to the cases, but to how Judgement came to inhabit our hero in the first place.
The game is told through two interconnected storylines. Which storyline you chose, and how the events play out, depends on the choices made by the player. Also, the structure of the game more closely resembles a "Choose Your Own Adventure" style, with certain choices leading to sudden death, while other choices will further the story, and lead to one of three "Good" endings.
The game also uses a "Second Chance" system. If you do die, just click through and the game will take you back before your choice. That means that if you didn't save right before the last choice, you only have to play through a small section of dialogue before being able to rethink your choice.

Characters
Demon Slayers Inc.
Bobby- Our hero. He's a fairly average guy who, at the start of the game, is just looking for a new direction in life, and most importantly, a new job. He learns, after ingesting demon blood, that he is the proud host to a supernatural force who goes by the name of Judgement. Suddenly he finds himself qualified for one job he never thought he would have, a demon slayer.

Clare- Clare is the expert. She has been trained for years to fight the growing demon plague that threatens to expose itself to the rest of the world. She is a tad bit headstrong, and not always the best when it comes to giving out information. She also will never run from a fight.

Ashtyn- All she wanted to be was an actress. Now she finds herself running the Demon Slayer's Inc. office, as well as doing all the major research. She is very protective of her coworkers, and never underestimates a threat. She's also known our hero since they were both freshmen in high school.

Kurt- Bobby's surprisingly understanding boyfriend, and occasional researcher. He takes everything in stride, and doesn't let the increasing demonic threats get in the way of his relationship. He's also a very good cook.
Clients

Felicia- Felicia is the Vice Principal of Wheaton Prep. She's the one who calls in the Demon Slayers after a student's rather odd death. She is generally warm and welcoming, although the recent events at her school are starting to dull her once bright personality. She also is a former high school friend of Bobby and Ashtyn. (Wheaton Prep Storyline)

Matt- Matt runs the Wheaton Youth Center. He calls the Demon Slayers in after several female staff members go missing after walking through Lilac Park late at night. He is a caring man who has devoted most of his adult life to helping kids and young adults. After the last abduction, most people would describe Matt as a hollow shell. He also is a former high school friend of Bobby and Ashtyn. (Lilac Park Storyline)
What do you guys think? Also, what do you think of the 'stock' game idea? I know it's not the most original, but I'm surprised at how much more creative I've been when I don't have to worry about the art. (I repeat. I am NOT an artist.)
current progress : 90% Complete (beta testing, proof reading)

Well, I have all the music in the game. Yay! Once I get all the proof reading done, I'll release some release info. I'm thinking of going through DLSite.com. More info to come!

Michael just turned in the final mixed/mastered tracks, and I'm starting to place them in the game! Weee! Also, the proofreading continues. Also, after checking the Blue Forest copyright, and seeing that redrawing is okay with the majority of their art, I'm thinking about possibly hiring someone to do a few (like four or five) event CG's in the game. Hmm... Any thoughts?

Well... I just did a major rewrite, added two new good endings, and a few more scenes to beef up the story lines! Now it's time for sleep.

Opened up beta testing over at the beta testing forum!
Got Michael (ROCKYIII) working on some tracks for the game. He's already turned in two unmixed/unmastered versions, and both are amazing so far. Check him out over at this link in the forum:

The music isn't free, but for not that much I'm getting some great sounding music for my game.

Still rewriting, and waiting for the beta testing to finish up. Added an ending (which brings the ending to 5 total).
