Re: The All-Purpose Project Status Summary Page

DaFool wrote:10.) Superdoll - Producer - after more wisdom gained from experience, sorry to say project has been officially cancelled. The amount of effort versus the potential interest still seems like a bad ratio (sorry EwanG)
No worries. With the iClone software, I get most of what I was looking for out of Superdoll - just that I have to live with 3D chars (not so bad), and that the cost is a little higher than I had hoped (just under $200 US).

Anyway, the only project I'm currently working on is Camp Handiba. At this point the status would be:

Male POV 1 Script - 75%
Female POV 2 Script - 25%
Female POV 3 Script - 25%
Background Art - 90%
Character Art - 10%
Music - 75%

All estimates are based on the current outline, and how the POV 1 script is progressing. I am increasingly concerned that the game length is going to be too long to actually get folks to play it (for example, POV 1 script is now around 100,000 words of dialogue for all of POV 1's branches). Figure I'll finish all three POV scripts, and if they all end up that long, then I may have to start cutting back. Hence the reason I've not done more of the character art - since the easiest cut backs will be to drop some of the side characters.

FWIW,
Ewan

Gamemaker/Writer = Dizzcity

Projects:

Wedding Vows: Script = 100%, Backgrounds = 90% (but not satisfied with them), Character sprites = 10%, Music = 10%.
Status: Apparently stalled. All of us (me, Choark and Mihel) appear to be too busy to continue with this.

I've got (literally) half a dozen other VN/KN/weird-N projects waiting on the back-burner, but I'm making a new policy to finish one VN at a time before moving on to the next. And being on three game-development teams outside of the community here isn't giving me much time to work on any VN projects.

Gamemaker/Writer: pheriannath

Project: NaNoRenO entry (as yet unnamed)

Type: Kinetic Novel
Script: 90%
Character Art: happily, not applicable
Event CGs: likewise
Background Art: 99% obtained (just one more photo...)
Music: 50% obtained
Integration/editing: 20% :(
Motivation: 90%

(I may not be able to finish in time - there's a lot of editing to be done - but I can't just shake off this story. It'll be finished, one way or another)

I'm going to have to drop out of NanoReno right now due to family problems, and my dad running off with more than half the money in our bank account, not even sure if we'll be able to cover groceries for the month, let alone internet ...

Of course, my personal computer can still be used but I doubt I'll even have enough time between the court dates and I'm getting sick too. :(.

Int-Renaimo Rook's Mark project date ... is now later than April 1st. Will try to release it by end of April, maybe.

So sorry.
I'm not even the same person anymore

No, we're sorry to hear that. There's no divorce in my country so I don't know how exactly it goes, but my parents are semi-separated.

Hope you can manage through all this.

Man, yeah - I've known a couple of friends whose parents have split up acrimoniously, and the last thing you should be doing is apologising...

Come back when you're good and ready. I hope it all turns out alright for you guys. :/

I know how awful these things can be, BCS. Absolutely no need to apologize. Wait until things clear up and then return and show us your game. Good luck!

wishing you luck on your real-life problems BCS.

Can't help replying to this. We may not have divorce, but we do have annulment and declaration of total nullity of marriage which totally severs the marriage bond as if there had been no marriage at all restoring the original property regime and legal capacities of the parties. There's also legal separation wherein the marriage bond is retained but the spouses may legally cohabit in different homes. Lastly, there's "separation in fact" which is probably the most common practice, wherein the parties just plain live separately without judicial declaration.
How do you make your games? I see. Thank you for the prompt replies, but it is my considered opinion that you're doing it wrong inefficiently because I am a perfushenal professional. Do it my way this way and we can all ascend VN Nirvana together while allowing me to stroke my ego you will improve much faster. Also, please don't forget to thank me for this constructive critique or I will cry and bore you to death respond appropriately with a tl;dr rant discourse of epic adequately lengthy proportions. - Sarcasm Veiled in Euphemism: Secrets of Forum Civility by lordcloudx (Coming soon to an online ebook near you.)

Author: Nafai

Project: The Elect

Script: 53,322 words as of the end of March. (Not in ren'py script form) That's 2/3 of the true path... not sure how many or how detailed the alternative paths should be as of yet.

Art: Progressing... given the format of he game, impossible to really tell how many pictures I'd need.

Sorry for the bump...

But yeah I'm glad to revisit my original post and have things crossed off my checklist. It's a nice feeling knowing you contributed in getting games finished. :D

The reason I do this is because I don't want the steam of the well-oiled OELVN community to grind to a halt (You know what sites regarding VN creation that are currently growing cobwebs I'm talking about. Good News...Shira-Oka made updates because of ACEN! Yay!) I think the current rate of 2 OELVNs / month is very nice. (I also agree that the lack of release last year between Nano and O3 would be disillusioning, although I wasn't around to experience it.)

So anyways, talk, rework if necessary, create!

Bully (working title)

script 35%

Bg art 10%

Character art 5%

Cg 10%

I'm serious 'bout it!
script is 85% done.
Title is now "Running through water"
and will hopefully stay that way.
Need a poem/lyric?
I'll write one for ya!
