Thanks! That means a lot to me.
I'm planning on getting a book on brushwork though, in the hopes of learning how to add detail and such because I really messed up with that on the Apple (like the green stuff in the left kind of makes the Apple look fuzzy to me).
Really? I seem to have misplaced my oil painting books, but I remember reading something like this "fat over lean" rule
.So, they were talking about thinning the oil paint with turpentine when you are doing an under painting/the first layers..
And then gradually going up to "fatter" paint (by using the paint as is first, and then adding linseed oil, or a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine… Or something IT'S SO COMPLICATED (T^T).
But, I guess if you're just starting out, using the paint as is is probably better.
I agree, using turpentine to clean your brushes in between colors makes life so much easier.
At first I tried it with sunflower oil, but turpentine (or the alternative that I use for that) is just a lot faster. ^^

Just a bunch of stupid stuff. Testing my A5 Daler Rowney dummy.
(got a parcel from an art store with stuff to make my own oil paint, so I can feel less guilty using more paint*. I'm so excited to start making my own paint! XD only "safe" pigments though. Got the sketchbook too.
*logic...there is none.)
Lots of RSI pain these days, gives me headaches and makes me freaking cranky.
10-20 minutes per figure.
And I can't stop giving these poor girls raptor arms!
Most heads are too small too.
Note to self:
Once the pain goes down again I'm going to tackle perspective!
