HNNKN: Kokorodamashi-Hen: Chapter 3 (new 18. 4. 2007)

This is game up to chapter two of game
Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni: Kokorodamashi-hen

This is doujinshi game based on popular japanese visual nove Higrashi No Naku Koro Ni. All game data except story are from that game so if you like, buy it!

Story itself is based on roleplaying thread in this forum: http://zettai.makenaidesuwayo.com/club/index.php (which i am participating in) but it is modified and enhanced.

Story itself is question arc but there are few parts from Answer arc too (Hanyuu etc...)

Demo contains chapter 3 + chapter 2,1 + prologue which means three days.

IT DOESNT MEAN THAT 2200AD IS DOWN OR DELAYED, I AM WORKING ON TWO THINGS TOGETHER, WHILE THIS ONE IS EASY STUFF (only ctrl+c and edit it).

BETA (That means no grammar correction or proof reading)

Wow, it's been such a long time since I last RPed online. Those were the good old days.

Now then... let's see what the first day brings.

EDIT: Pretty good but I usually got confused about who's point of view it was.

Maybe you should add a TIPS section.

yep there will be tips as long as i learn how to ad them :D
(like Satokos dream will be in tips)

Well i will change the colour for each character? Not talking colour but if is Keichiis view then it will be white Mion green etc? Will it help?

Hmm... it wouldn't feel the same though.

Probably sticking to one or two points of view and sticking to them would be best. Then you have the rest as tips.

But man...

It feels kinda weird noticing the slight things I notice about RP and the feeling that it emulates that higurashi feeling too well.

Spoler: Dont worry, it is only four days before watanagashi... :)
And that was only normal anger not crazy stuff, noone is infected by L5 virus stage so far (but i already know who will be :p)

Dafool: Its based on rp, but i got music and art from game (LOL Onscripter is defaul with unpacker + music was in wav directory unpacked already) and i try to emulate thigs as they were in onscripter :)

Hmm, I guess you're right there.
I guess I think that it was a little too early for everyone to explain what they were thinking. It feels like you guys were burning through plot way too fast. It feels like a mismash all the plots of the worlds into one. While logically it could happen, it still needs to be split up somehow to.
Do remember to include the sound normally played when someone is losing mental sanity.

It was nice. Enjoyable to read. I'd like to see more of the transitions from the game. I've looked over the RP thread in the Hinamizawa Club forum a bit, so it's cool seeing it getting turned into a visual novel.

It be interesting to see more of the transitions and effects used in the game. The wipes, fades, screen shakes, and the end of chapter transition with the black bars and the logo. Also, Higurashi often has more than one character on screen at a time, but your game doesn't do that a lot, and the instance it does, the character sprites are right on top of each other, instead of being on the right and left sides of the screen.

A few minor thoughts: Should the preferences menu be labeled as "Omake"? I was trying to change the text speed but I couldn't find the Preferences button in the game menu (At first, I hit 3... for a second, I thought it was ONscripter...). I tried the Omake button, since it was the only real option anyway, and boom, there are my options, but it did throw me for a little bit. Also, isn't the format for chapter names supposed to be 2 kanji + 'Shi'? If you don't think it's too late, you might want to try and fix that, so it's more like the real chapters. And lastly, if you're really going for the whole Higurashi feel, (not trying to sound like a traitor or anything here, but) why not use ONscripter? You'd get the same look and feel and be able to do the exact same things with it. I think it's great you're trying to emulate the ONscripter effects with Ren'Py, but I also think it would be neat to do it with ONscripter... If you need help with the programming, I'd lend a hand. I've always wanted to really play around with it and this would be a good chance (Kirikiri too, but I haven't seen any documentation in english for it yet). Well, it's something to think about.

I hope you and the rest of the RPers keep up the good work. I'd love to see the finished product.

And yes there are not many situations where can be two characters on screen ... it depends on scene... :)
BTW I did last one on purpose to be like Hanyuu is invisible god and only Rika can see her.

Well, the ONscripter thing was only a little suggestion, a way to get closer to the original. If you do want to use it, I could help with the programming and the other technical details. But I don't blame you for wanting to stick with what you're used to, and it is cool seeing Higurashi done with Renpy.

And as for a name, as I know no japanese, I can't suggest one. You could try asking around at the Hinamizawa Club forums. Some of the members there seem to have some grasp of the japanese language, and they certainly know their way around Higurashi.

I've known about the Higurashi translation project since it was first started, but I didn't know the whole scene expanded so fast.
