Does anyone know how to add a signature to lemmasfoft?

If you do, then I'd be very grateful. :D

Click "User Control Panel" which is near the top right of the page, then look at the left side under Options for the link "Edit Signature", click it and that will take you to the page where you can add your signature, put what you want in the box, finally hit submit to have it added to your posts.

It's important to add that the signature feature only "unlocks" after the user has a certain number of posts. Before that the link to edit signature simply isn't there (my current situation).

Aha, that explains why I couldn't find jack shit either. :D

Thanks for clearing that up!

I wonder how many posts you have to make before you can add one? But anyway, thank you, this was exactly the answer I was looking for as well. I think I was going to go nuts looking for an option that wasn't there...

^You don't need very many. 5-8 posts or something around that.

Yes, using the same process as you would to put them in the message body. First you have to upload the file to an image storage site (sites like Photobucket, TinyPic, or Imgur will do the trick.) After that, take the raw URL for the uploaded photo (it should end in a .png or .jpg or similar extension) and put it in image tags like below. Some image upload sites will even have a text field with this already done so that you can just paste it in a forum.

For example, this:

Code: Select all

[img]http://puu.sh/hTYZa/00d107ae80.jpg[/img]
Produces this:
Image

Then just paste that code in your signature field (if it's unlocked) and you're done! You can also use the [img] tags in conjunction with other BBCode formatting - so for instance, if you wanted the image centered, just add center tags around the image tags. You can even have the image link to a webpage when clicked if you surround it with valid URL tags.

Note that images in signatures should be a reasonable size - nothing too tall or too wide, since it will appear at the end of every post you make and can stretch out the page. This forum might have limiters in place that prevent you from exceeding a certain size (I haven't tested that), but regardless you should try to keep the image compact. Banner size, or keeping the height short, is usually the norm - check out other users' signatures for examples of what's acceptable.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask... I'm pretty familiar with BBCode.

The limiter is me, either PMing you to tell you to change it, or deleting your sig if it's particularly egregious or I'm in a bad mood.
