Cel Shaded Coloring Anime Character Style

#1 Post by mms6 »

Image

(From Bottom to Up)

Shading is hard cel style with no softness. Good for mobile devices and smaller screens (lower resolutions) as it shows more shadow and contrast, and clarity.

Try it yourself.

I think I will give this a try. It looks simple and clean, so why not?

You know, it's not really matter about which program you use. This can be draw with any kind of drawing program from Sai to openCanvas to Photoshop and up. The only matter is if you can do it or not. It's simple anyway, hope you can figure out.

Ah, I see. Well I have photoshop, but let's just say the results I achieve are too two-dimensional. I guess I need to put some hefty work into understanding shading and what not. Tutorials here I come! Thanks for your help :)

If it comes out looking flat that's usually because you don't have a clear light source.

The program I use for Cel-Shading is Photoshop CS4

I do a cell shadow markup first, then just fill it in with the desired shadow color on top of the base.

Yeah, It's probably because I haven't had a definite light source in mind.

Ah! Photoshop strikes again! Thank you for the help.
