SUPER DUPER URGENT!!!!!!! Renpy launch issue
Hi, I'm having a big problem right now. I'm trying to launch Renpy on my Windows 8 laptop, but I every time I do so, the Renpy window temporarily pops up before crashing and exiting due to an error. I tried to download and re-download Renpy from other sources, but that didn't solve the problem. This is a fact that constantly frustrates me as I need to access the tutorials in order to answer a few questions that were given to me for homework (I'm a college freshman majoring in game design). Here are the questions:
-how are labels used in Renpy?
-what's the difference between a music channel and a sound channel?
If one of you could help me answer them, that'd be great!

You sound like someone who just started on an assignment that is due today...
Anyway, depending on how detailed your answer to those questions need to be, this might or might not have enough information. Look for section Audio and Labels.
As for start up error, you probably would need to provide more details. If you think the operating system is the problem, have you tried changing compatibility settings?

Re: SUPER DUPER URGENT!!!!!!! Renpy launch issue
Basically, I downloaded the Renpy application from the 7z.exe file on my Windows 8 laptop. I then made sure to download Java and jEdit (which I did) in order for Renpy to run properly. But when I try to launch Renpy, it crashes as soon as the window pops up. I don't know why. I tried the zip file (2nd download option) and I extracted it as instructed, but that didn't fix the problem. I wish I had more details, but time restrictions and work pressure prevent me from getting to the bottom of the problem.

Is there a traceback.txt or log.txt file?

Sorry if I'm spamming, but how do I check if it's traceback.txt or log.txt?
Re: SUPER DUPER URGENT!!!!!!! Renpy launch issue
Check the folder where you've installed the Ren'Py to find this files.
