Writer looking to lend a hand.

#1 Post by MrOcculture » Sat Aug 31, 2013 11:03 am

Heya, peoples.

I actually came to this site by request of a friend and to be honest I'm not entirely sure what to expect. Truth is I was looking to find artists to work on some of my personal projects. After a bit of browsing I gathered that it doesn't really work that way. In order to get a better feel for how it really is, I'd like to offer my services. I'll keep it simple. If you're interested in a writer let's talk it out. I'm hardly a pro. Rather I am taking my time in developing my abilities, so keep that in mind.

I have noticed that Anime styles are prevalent here and should just come out and say I don't much care for it. Used to be an Otaku, sort of, but when I began to take my writing seriously I became sick of it. Reasons being the over reliance on tropes and generic archetypal characterization, which should tell you something about me one way or the other. That said, I am not above the absurd concept/story line/ design aspects of it.

Talk to me if you think I can be of use. I'll send a link to some of my work if you'd like. I generally write occult/horror/supernatural type stuff with a bit of darker humor. Ridiculous concepts are sort of my wheelhouse.

It's generally a good idea to provide some examples of your work, so any prospective group/artist in need of some writing help knows what they're getting on. The style of writing is important in particular; Writers enjoy different schools of thought, and it wouldn't work out if a minimalist and purple prosist tried to work together. :)

I suppose I really should post something. Much of my work is not posted on the internet so my blog is sort of barren.
