Giving the player choice on screen size/aspect ratio

#1 Post by FamuFamu » Sat Oct 05, 2013 4:43 pm

Maybe it's an actual function I'm not aware of, but one thing I'd love to see in Ren'Py would be the ability to change the screen size. Give the player the choice in preferences of going with a 1080p screen size or a 720p screen size and not be limited only to what the developer puts in options.rpy.

Granted, this means it's own set of problems, font size, screens location/size, asset size and whatnot, but I've seen Ren'Py able to scale everything on screen if you try to make it bigger dragging it with the mouse. Maybe adding some variable that modifies everything from font size to assets size depending on how much the game screen changes?

Not really a necessity (At least not to many) but I think it would be a nice addition.

Have you tried, for example, Preference("display", 0.5) ?
