Need help with game

Ok, I decided I wanted to make a visual novel based on a really old game that I really like called Sanitarium. This personal project of mine, I will need an artist to help me with backgrounds and sprites. I can handle the story writing and internal game design itself.

The game will be lengthy (probably will be about 10-15 hour gameplay) and I will need at least 10 sprites with different emotions drawn for each. If I decide to only to do release it a few chapters at a time, I will need far fewer for the first few chapters (I will provide all information as needed)

The game itself is a psychological thriller that revolves around the main character's mind. As he confronts his inner demons, he figures out his true identity.

Here is a rough draft of the prologue and the first chapter of the game:


Prolouge


-As I leave the office, I could not contain my excitement about my recent discovery.
-I immediately pull out my cell and dial my colleague.
-He doesn't answer, It's late at night so no surprise.
-I just leave a voicemailyou
-"I found it! The answer we were looking for, Right here, right in front of us the whole time!"
-I quickly hang up and shove the phone back in my pocket.
-Great.-It's raining.
-Well it is fall after all in the mountainside. nothing really new here.
-After unlocking my car, I get in.
-With one smooth motion, the car whirs to life.
-Because of my excitement, I speedily race home.
-I can't wait to tell my wife the good news. This discovery could probably give me a raise. Or better yet:
-an amazing job working for that...-
-what?!
-The brakes aren't working!
-No matter how much pump them, they refuse to work!
-*SCREECH*
-I barely make it around the first corner, but still maintaining most of my speed.
you- "Why aren't my Goddam brakes working?!?"
you- "ARGH!"
-although I made it around the first corner, the next one might be so forgiving.
-there is a cliff approaching. I don't think those guard rails will be protecting me from going over.
you-"SHIT!"
*CRASH*
-(screen blacks out)



Chapter 1: The Tower

-I groggily wake up.you
- "where am I?"
-I take a look around my surroundings.
-I appear to be in a small room only furnished with a bed which I am sitting on. The walls are made of stone and the door is made of a thick wood.
-There is an alarm going off outside this door that is very loud and giving me quite a head ache.
you- "Where am I?"
-I get up and move to the door. The door surpisingly opens quite easily.
-As I leave the room, I stand in shock as I see what is before me.
-I'm in a stone tower near the top. maybe the second highest floor-
-well I say floor but it's just a walkway around the center which is basically a giant chasm to the bottom.
you-"I don't think I want to get out that way"
- There are stairs to the left and an annoying flashing red light to the left.
[Go left]
[Go right*]
- As I go toward the flashing red light, I quickly discover it is a switch.
- Should I flip the switch?
[Yes*]
[Leave it how it is]
you-"Thank God...."
-The blinking of the light stops. Better yet, that annoying alarm has switched off.
-I go back towards the stairs, as I go, notice a room off to my left, I go inside.
-Oh my god, what is that horrid smell?
-the room is filthy and only furnished with a bed.
-It appears the last person who used this bed pissed the bed. I bet any sane man would after hearing that god-awful alarm.
-speaking of which, why didn't I notice this sooner?
-why is my head tied up in bandages? What happened to me?
-Why can't I remember anything?-Am I even sane anymore?
-Well I'm not going to get anything accomplished just by sitting here thinking about it. Only way to conquer this amnesia is to first get out of here!
-there is a towel on the bed. I don't think a piss filled towel is going to do me any good, although now it looks dry. I leave it.
-As I leave go up the stairs, I see more of the people around and notice theres a small tower in the center.
-How do I get to that tower, I wonder.
-I see off to my left a man banging his head into the wall. The wall appears to stand firm with blood stains all around where he has been hitting.
-More to the left, I see a woman freaking the hell out. She keeps yelling about this "Village" and "spirits" nonsense.
-That's when I realized something.
you- "Am I in a mental asylum??"-what's going on?-I'm not crazy am I?
-Well if I confront it upfront like that, people are sure to think I'm crazy.
-off to my right is an angel statue. -perplexed by it, I walk towards it to examine it.
-*WOOSH*-As I get closer to it, the candles around it turn alive and I just stand in awe of the beauty of this angel.
-Well there are some stairs here in front of me, so I decide to go down them. I see a cable overhead that connects the outer tower with the inner one.
-there is a path around the stairs leading to it.
-Wait...
-I don't have time to worry about that.
-The stairs leading to the bottom are gone and there is a crazed man by the edge
you-"wait stop!"
crazed man- "what? who are you?"
-*SLIP*
Crazed Man- "AHHHhhh!"
-He fell to his death before I could reach him.
you-"My God...."
-next to where the man was standing...
-!!!
-What appears to be a generator is on fire.
-How much time do I have before it blows?
-I better find a way to the inner tower to see if there any clues about my identity and how I got here to this tower.
-I figure the wire going from the outer tower is sturdy enough to support my weight but I do not think I should touch it.
-Although I don't remember much, I remember electiricity does not feel good.
-!
-The towel will actually have a use now!
-I carefully hurry back to the room and grab the towel and make it to the wire.
-I put the towel around the wire and I am about to go.
-What the hell am I doing?
-Should I really do this?
[no time to think, just go!*]
[Maybe this wasn't the greatest idea]
-I zipline now the wire and safely land in front of the door to a small room inside the inner tower.
-thank god, the door was unlocked.
-I enter quickly.
-there is a vcr and a video in here (weren't these outdate years ago?)
-I quickly hook up the vcr and put the video in.
-The video flickers on.
-What appears to be 3 people are on the tape.
-I'm sitting at this table with this distinguished fellow.
-He appears to be a doctor-In the corner appears to be a burly dude with his arms crossed. Might be an orderly helping the doctor with me.
Doctor- "This is the 3rd time this month you have lost your memory, you know that?"
Doctor- "And this time you almost escaped by stealing that car. It's a miracle you landed in the tree and only banged your head and only being knocked unconscience."
Doctor- "Due to your recent events, we are sending you to the tower where..."
-"BZZZT"
you-"What the hell? the vcr just fried!"
you-"thankfully it short circuited this safe and blew it open."
-there is a key inside it, I take it. I think I remember there being a keyhole around the statue's base. Might be useful.
-I take it and some of the papers that were in the once locked filing cabinent.
-As I leave the room, I realize that I'm still on the inner tower.
-Wait what does this button do?
-I press it and a bridge extends.
-"now we're getting somewhere!"
-I quickly get accross and run up to the statue.
-After carefully inserting the key, something remarkable happens.
-the angel is moving
-and even more suprisingly it's crying.
-crying tears of blood.angel-"Oh my precious home, what has happened to it?"
you- "what? who are you? How do I get out of here?"
angel- "seek the truth!"
-as she says this, her wings wrap around me and everything goes dark.

also another thing, I have music design as well. If you want to help me with any of those things that I mentioned I will be doing, you can do that as well. When the game is released, it will be obtainable for free and money will be made by donation base only (everyone who helps with the project will get some sort of cut of this.)

If this is your first game, you might start with something... smaller. More concise. Maybe you should figure out a good first chapter and produce that, and then see how it goes?
