"Revised" Visual Novel Editor?

#1 Post by noeinan » Sat Jan 18, 2014 12:31 am

I was looking for GUI tutorials and stumbled across this visual novel editor that uses Ren'Py.

Anyone know anything about it? Used it? I'm curious.

I saw that a year ago. It seems the author changed his mind and stopped working on it. It was intended to be a simple gui for some features of Ren'Py. There was no compiled program to use, only the source code and some instructions.

That's a shame, a program to help design GUI would have been nice.

Oh, so they were trying to cut out the scripting in Renpy and make it kind of like Novelty? Interesting-- too bad they cancelled the project.

As there's currently some activity on GitHub, possibly the author of this editor will restart his project?

You can give your feedback on his webpage btw: Revised, a simple visual editor (or wizard/assistant/GUI) for Ren’Py

Good news that this project hasn't died. But why in heaven this project aimed at the "non-technical" people never had a single build released for testing purposes? :)

This is neat. I had the idea of doing something like this after I finished Culina, but now I'm glad to hear that it's already being worked on. Hope to see a completed version!

interesting, but releasing one more time only the source code (no builds) when people are interested in the program mainly because they don't want to work with scripts, sounds like a bad joke.
