Thanks Auro! I'm working hard to get it all done in time! Good luck with your game as well, definitely going to check i out when I have some free time.

Thanks so much! So happy to have the support of people like you. ^^

Just found out my co-writer is busy with exams and such and won't be able to help with the writing for another week or so. After getting the news I took a break from art assets to work on the script since that's the most important thing to finish. Here's my week one progress report. Not much completed writing wise because I've only been doing that for two days.

Code: Select all

The game contains 769 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 17,751 words,
for an average of 23.1 words per screen.
The game contains 10 menus.

This weeks update on writing is in. I meant to post it yesterday but didn't have the time. Have been going back to edit Orla's route by making sure all the choices added up logically as well as expanding on some scenes.

Code: Select all

The game contains 901 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 20,364 words,
for an average of 22.6 words per screen.
The game contains 13 menus.

Here's some additional art to show.Since I rewrote the game's intro, I had to make some additional backgrounds to go along with it. The backgrounds are of the upper sea floor, the cave entrance of the Abyss, and the same cave but seen as seen when exiting the Abyss. I definitely abused copy and paste to make finishing these backgrounds but they are only seen for a second in game so I guess it evens out...

Thank you so much! I"m not ready to give up just yet!

Code: Select all

The game contains 934 dialogue blocks, containing 21,073 words and 109,034
characters, for an average of 22.6 words and 117 characters per block.

The game contains 13 menus, 158 images, and 17 screens.

Sent my co-writer everything I worked on writing wise this past week. She's looking over it now and will work on revising the endings for Orlas' route and finishing up Korchas' if there's time. Once I have the ending text finalized, I can work on ending CGs. Here's hoping she's a fast writer! There's not much time left til the end of March.

I've finished 9 out of 11 backgrounds for the game so just about done with those. Also touched up some of the old backgrounds and CGs which look much better now. The picture attached is of one of the newer backgrounds. The other two are a touched up version of Cyn's intro CG as well as one of the background of his house.

Got back a pretty big chunk of the endings from the co-writer this week! Went in and changed some little things to make the transition from my writing to hers a bit smoother. But other than that left things as is. Now to go through the game and code all the sprites in *sob*.

Code: Select all

The game contains 1,226 dialogue blocks, containing 27,506 words and 142,344
characters, for an average of 22.4 words and 116 characters per block.

The game contains 13 menus, 159 images, and 17 screens.

Thank you so much Harliqueen! I'm still chugging along with everything. Congrats on just about finishing your VN! Really love how you made the main menu screen. ^^

A bit late but here's my word count for this week~

Code: Select all

The game contains 1,322 dialogue blocks, containing 29,794 words and 154,168
characters, for an average of 22.5 words and 117 characters per block.

The game contains 13 menus, 168 images, and 17 screens.
All of the writing for Orlas' route is now done! Just cleaning up some stuff and adding in sprites. I still have to export expressions for Korcha, Aiden and Telos though but that won't take long.
All of the background images for the game are complete as well. Still have to finish up some small CGs though.

Orla's route has 9 endings, 3 of which will have CGs and an epilogue scene. Korcha's route might not end up being as polished as Orlas for now, but I hope to get all the writing done so that it's at least playable.

Thanks Kate! You're too kind and I can't wait to show the finished game off. It'll be my first release. ^^

I'm working on adding in sprites for the last two endings in game as well as doing one last look through to make sure i didn't miss anything essential that could cause issues. Most of the art got done but there are 3 CGs that I didn't have time to finish up so they have placeholders for now.

I plan to release the game either today or tomorrow once I figure out how to build a distribution and optimize my assets to reduce file size. A rough draft of Korchas route has been finished but rather than sink my last bit of time into formatting it into the game I'll just leave it out for now. -_-

Totally forgot to post the link to the finished game here http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... 11&t=31528. -_-

I still plan to go back and polish things up further.
