artist looking for a project

#1 Post by Syureria » Tue Oct 30, 2007 9:25 pm

hi, this is my first post, but I've been lurking arround for quite a while now.
as I said, I'm an artist, and right now I'm kind of frustrated with my artwork. I lack confidense, which is why I'm not taking commissions at the moment. but I still need to draw, and I thought that working on a visual novel would be a great experience, since my dream is to work on character artwork for games someday.
if you're interested in my art send me a summary of your project. you can send me the full script if you already have it, althou I'd still need the brief resume.
also, keep in mind that you'll have to bear with my poor communication skills, since english isn't my native language.

hi C: send me what you have for me to review. I'll probably wait 1 or 2 days before deciding on a project. thanks =)

Hey there. Me and others involved in the Katawa Shoujo Visual Novel project are very interested in your art. The game is already 1/3rd written and partially coded, so we do have a demo of sorts. You can download it here.

The game is essentially about the main character going to a new school which happens to be a school for the disabled. He meets the 5 main girls and the rest is obvious. You choose which path to follow and fall in love with each girl; experiencing their unique stories.

Our project isn't small scale, but it's not huge either. There are quite a few people on staff and the work is distributed. We need an artist to do sprites and CG. You can check us out in our IRC channel #zettai-shoujou on irc.rizon.net.

Nice work! I think she's lovely! I wouldn't lack any confidence if I were you! Keep it up!

Ditto, your anatomy is really good and the coloring is top notch(from what I can see here, the skin is really well colored)

Wow!

I also find it amusing how there's 2 requests within 2 hours of the first post.

Hardly surprising, though - I mean, I think the most common request we see around here is people asking for art help for their projects, if someone good's going to come along and offer art services... ;-)

(And really, I'm just as surprised by the lack of confidence as everyone else. Although, it does seem to be a bit of a trend when people reach certain stages of artistic development; the more capable you are at layout and rendering and so on the more you'll learn what to look for and the more you'll have the ability to pick holes in your own stuff that nobody else can see. It's good from the point of view of improving yourself, but not so great from the point of view of confidence...)

thanks for the support :)
I do realize that im kind of good, and improving, but I still am far away from my goal. hopefully working on a project will help me on that.
I'm going to wait at least one more day before deciding on a project.

*Jaw falls down... and drool covers floor* -> Translation: HOLY BEJESUS!! That's some awesome artwork!!!!
---------------------------------------------------

Wow... that completely settles it: I suck at drawing...T_T

Your art is incredible... I like the image a lot (Soft spot for gothic and darkside references.. gomen! ^^; ).. I'm sure you won't have a hard time for finding any suitable projects ^^ I'll be looking over your DeviantArt and looking your progress very closely.. I wish you the best in your quest for perfecting your art ^^

"Emptiness....that is...true fear...."

thanks ^^ it always makes me happy to hear good things about my art. it compensates for my continuous self-bashing.

andd I would like to announce that I already found a project to work on :) I may open the offer once again when I finish my part on this one, but thats probably going to take a while.
