I second what Laiska said, I think using tags should be enough, there were not that many threads in the section to begin with and with that many subsections they are going to get fewer views thus lessening the chances for people to find what they were looking for.

On the other hand, there are artists who aren't going to take unpaid work and they may not want to wade through all the requests for unpaid labor (especially considering how many requests actually don't say if it is paid or not). Instead they can go straight to the subsection whey they know people are willing to pay. I think there is value in that. I also think there aren't many threads right now, but they will come.

Taleweaver wrote:"Free projects" are those where the only compensation for the production team is the joy of having completed a project together.
So, Choco and I are offering a skill trade for the areas we're not able to do ourselves. So there's compensation, but not monetary. Where do we fall under? It's under Free projects right now, and we certainly aren't going to sell the end product.

I'm not in favor of these changes, because now it means projects will be ignored.

That said, I won't complain. I can't imagine how much work it took to organize everything...

This would be suitable for the free section assuming you're not planning on selling the finished product. (Otherwise it would be in the Commercial partners section.)

Alright, gang, you'll notice that the recruitment sections have been rewritten a little. It's now divided into Free Game+Partners, Commercial Game+Partners, and Paid Work (Free or Commercial Game).

If you are offering skill trades, dA points, royalties, potential KickStarter revenue, hand-painted porcelain unicorns, or anything that isn't a set monetary amount, it should go in a partner forum.

And just for clarification, this new format is designed to give people as much visibility as possible. With the increase of posts in the Recruitment forum, we were noticing that threads were getting pushed down pretty quickly- especially ones asking for partnership. Someone could post a "need an artist!" thread and lose it quickly because a bunch of people were responding to someone else's composer thread with things like "You sound great! Maybe I can use you in a year!" Or (and this is what we're trying to avoid), a paid thread might get more attention and bump other threads down. We hope that by splitting them off, threads asking for free work will have more prominence. Of course, we'll be monitoring this change to make sure it has the desired effect (and not the opposite one), but we hope that this will help everyone's project gain more visibility.

Plus, you needn't bump your projects any longer. Isn't that nice? ^_^

Short clarification for all of you who have a thread in our Old Threads section: We are perfectly happy if you want to keep your thread where it is, and we will only move threads started before September 2014 on the request of the person who openend them. That also means you needn't report these old threads - the move to the other sections is not mandatory.

However, we'd like you all to post NEW threads into the other sections and may move any topics started after September 2014 to another appropriate forum

What's more, the move requests serve as a "proof of life" - it shows that the person or team is still active.

Would it be possible to bring topics on top of the forum subsections?

Just for the sake of clearance, if I'm a translator I should post into the "I'm a Writer, Editor or Proofreader" subsection right?
Even if no one will need a translator :P

It's certainly not wrong. Considering yourself something "other" and thus posting in the "other" subsection would also be possible.
