Starship Traider [Sci Fi/Romance/BxG] [Nano15]

#1 Post by steve_T » Tue Mar 03, 2015 6:42 pm

Hi Guys this is my first try at NaNoRenO, I'm only new to visual novels as a player or developer. But last year I got hooked on VN's when I played Sunrider. I'm a one man band and not any good at drawing so I'll be using the ii_Character_tool and lots of Creative Commons content.

My main goals are:
  • 1. Learn RenPy
    2. Have fun
    3. A finished playable game by the end of the month
Plot
You are the new captain of a trading ship, as you get to know your crew something is not as it seems. One of you crew is not who she seems, one of your crew is a robot! This story aims to explore the question "do androids dream of electronic sheep?"; can a sufficiently advanced Artificial Intelligence have feelings, can an advanced AI feel love? If an AI can love can a human love an AI?

Status

I have been playing with the trading engine and in game menu, but they are now at a level where they work. So I need to devote more time on the Sprties, background and story.

Ooo, sci-fi all the way! I have a bit of a hate/love relationship with Do Androids Dream of Electronic Sheep, overall I liked it but I wish it went into more about androids. I wish you all the best with your take on it!

Thanks for the comment, this has nothing to do with the book . other than I have taken inspiration from the robots (replicants) in that book.

Well I finished this project, I posted the finished link in the "Completed adult games"; I hope that's correct???

I had to scale the project back from what I had originally planned to make the deadline, but I had fun and learned lots.
