Expected Statement Error

#1 Post by Sayah Nohra » Wed May 20, 2015 10:09 am

I've written like, 80% of this fantasy school au game. But when I tried to write it, this happened. It's followed by a series of similar errors.
(God, this damn website doesn't let me upload my picture either. Here's the link https://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive?ltmpl=drive)
I have legit no idea what's going, can someone please help me? Thank you.

That link doesn't work. (it links to "my-drive", that means, the drive of the one who clicks on it. In my case, it links to *my* drive, not yours, and your example is in yours, obviously).

OK. Don't panic! :) It's a common problem.
You've used a word processor to write the text (like Word or LibreOffice), and those programs change the normal quotes " to typographical quotes “ ”. This is nice for the printer but not correct in python.
Simply go to Find&Replace in your text editor and replace (using Replace All):
  • “ (opening typographical quotes) with " (normal quotes)
  • ” (closing typ. q.) with " (normal q.)
