Graphic Novel - Writer/Artist Partnership

#1 Post by Nahilys » Sun Aug 09, 2015 8:41 am

Hello there,

I am currently working on a Visual Novel project of my own with members I have teamed up for it, but I am now looking for an other project to work on on the side.

I am looking for an artist interested in the concept of it and willing to partner with me for this one. I am not looking for free-lancers who sell their works to someone. I wanna this to be a team project. Commercial or not, I don't really mind, but I am not interested in any money.

What kind of Project am I looking for ? I am planning to create a Graphic Novel, based on CG with written over narration. Those will mostly features characters, their expressions and poses while the story goes on.

Name : Fantasi (Temporary, "fantasy" in Swedish).

Type : Graphic Novel

Genre : Conceptual Psychological Thriller

Rating : +18 (Suggestive sex & violence/Hard subjects)

Story :

It sets up in an undetermined future where everything is handled by machines thanks to solar energy finally being used to its full potential, and humanity's society revolving around entertainment and human relationships only.

As people get bored doing nothing in their everyday life, famous scientist take the decision to take some time to developp a possible drug that will make people discover and dream of their own deepest fantasies.

Unfortunately, it doesn't go as intended, making people not dream but live them, forcing them to act them in the real world. Since then, people separate in several groups, one accepting their own fantasy and living them fully, others refusing them and not accepting their true deepest self, some are so hardly shocked they don't believe it being real.

I am planning on focusing on several characters in this particular context and their personal stories, making them quite short. It is not meant to have a particular main story behind it, altho it is not out of the question in the long run.

For now, I am planning on three chapters (3 short stories), but more could be added from time to time, when ideas come out.

Do not hesitate to ask me anything here or in PM, I'll happily answer you. :)

Hello,

thanks for your answer. Sorry for not explaining it through. I'm looking for a partner to draw CG featuring characters expressions and poses mostly. :)

Thanks.
I also wonder what type are you looking for? Is it traditional art? Manga? Cartoon? Or are you open to any style?

Hello,

Digital Art seems the way to go, obviously, although traditionnal art could be as interesting. Manga/anime style influences are obviously very appreciated ;)

What I think you're referring to here is a Kinetic Novel? The term Graphic Novel usually refers to a long-form comic, in a print medium.

Hello

I actually thought about making it a short Kinetic Novel with several Chapters, as it would be quite interesting, but at first I had the idea to make it what could be called a "CG Novel". You can find those types of novel on hentai websites mostly, although my story won't be focused on sex.
