Monstrous Lovers is a BxB game inspired by early horror & sci-fi movies, such as universal monsters.


In Monstrous Lovers you play as Christopher Wells, a government employee whose job consists of ensuring the peaceful coexistence of monsters and humans… or it would, if he ever got to do more than fill paperwork. Tired of his job, he requests a transferal to Saint George, the city with the highest monster population of the country.

But in Saint George, not everything is at it seems...

Yes. It all seems wonderful. I saw this game on the site awhile ago and I think I commented on it back then too. Either way, I was gonna be really sad it if had been dropped.

Which character do you like best so far?

Isaac! I adore glowing eyes and he's got a very lovely sounding personality.

For a crowdfunding campaign, what sort of rewards would you like?

For commercial projects I always just pick the tier that comes with a copy of the game if I'm backing it.

1) VERY MUCH YES.

2) I-I can't pick. I love how diverse the personalities are!
I think maybe I like Christopher a little more, mostly because I'm not used to protags that have worked desk jobs. I can relate, even if it's in that tiny little way!

Really though, I look at this and I just want to sit down and romance all the boys.

I love how well you guys are selling the movie-monster style. Especially those print posters. Very stylish! XD My only criticism is, the name feels like it's a tiny bit not cool enough compared to the fun idea and the excellent art and the slick style. Unless it's another pulp movie reference I'm not getting, of course <XD

At the risk of being a dick, this game probably isn't for me (my particular flavour of BxB is "femboy as hell") but I still love the concept and it looks extremely well-executed so far. I know I've got some other folks in my social-media-sphere who will be totally into it, so I'll be sharing it around.

(And what I said about my tastes notwithstanding, I think Ben is lovely. He has such sincere expressions - he just looks like a giant sweetheart!)

It's actually just a play on the meanings of monstrous. The name was one of the first things, so by the time there was more progress I had grown attached to it haha.

**04/september update**

All the sprites are now finished, except for Maria. If everything goes as planned, the demo should be avaliable next week.

Hey everyone!

This friday, we will be doing a limited release of the first demo (5 slots) for the purpose of gathering feedback.

This first version lacks:

● music & sound effects
● a properly working extras menu (the cgs don’t unlock properly).
● some backgrounds (specifically, there is only one “street” for all the scenes. The difference between text and bgs shouldn’t be too jarring, though).
