Heavenly Soul looking for coder!

#1 Post by SuperLexxx » Sat Oct 24, 2015 4:47 pm

Hey there! I'm Lexi, the writer/artist of Heavenly Soul. I'm creating a demo for the full game as part of my college senior project and plan to have the demo finished by April of next year. I had originally planned on doing all of the art and coding on my own, but unfortunately I am struggling with handling all of those things at once. The short deadline isn't giving me a lot of time to learn the ins and outs of scripting in Ren'py on top of writing the story and doing all of the art.

Long story short, I'm in need of a coder to script everything in Ren'py. Nothing too complicated, mostly just dialogue with a few different choices to make. Ideally, I would like to program in a relationship meter that goes up and down based on choices you make, but that's only if everything else can be taken care of at a brisk pace. The demo is very short, probably ten minutes at the very most.

If there's any questions about the project feel free to ask them!

It sounds like really easy work that wouldn't take a lot if time. When would you need the work done? I could probably do it, but not before winter break would be the best time for me.
A Close Shave:
*Last Thing Done (Aug 17): Finished coding emotions and camera for 4/10 main labels.
*Currently Doing: Coding of emotions and camera for the labels--On 5/10
*First Next thing to do: Code in all CG and special animation stuff
*Next Next thing to do: Set up film animation
*Other Thing to Do: Do SFX and Score (maybe think about eye blinks?)

It would be after winter break, once I have the whole script written out and most of the artwork done.

Why don't you send me the script once you've finished it so I can do the first round of implementation? Make sure you've written in where you want people to get points, how many, and what for. Also let me know where and how you want the branches to work.

Then I can work on first implementation while you are finishing the art.
