missing writer , what should I do ?

So I have simple problem here , my writer went missing sins 27 nov ! and I need to finish the Demo which would be around 4-5k words , in 3 or 4 weeks , what I'm missing is the story to start coding. that being said she joined me on this project from 13th nov yet I didn't get anything from her so far ... I only have around 2k words which i wrote before she joins me and that 2k word needs a huge amount of editing !

Now I need to finish this thing to be able to get my A.D. ! any suggestions ? should I wait few more days and see if she comes online or I should start searching for another writer ? what If i find a writer and she comes back with a written story ? I would feel bad that way !

one more question where can I look for writers other than LSF ?

I suggest you continue writing everything yourself, because really, most (like 99%) free writers (and a decent amount of paid) don't feel any obligation to do what they volunteered/were hired to do, or even contact you and say they're quitting (because free/or cheap, whatever the price). So you may look for another writer but with such a short deadline you have no time to take chances.

First of all, if you've been reaching out to your writer for over a week, and she hasn't responded at all, then I'd assume she's gone. If she comes back in a while and has stuff done, then you'll have some additional choices to make, but ultimately its risky to wait in the dark and hope she shows up. I'd send one last email/pm/im request, give her a day, and then move on.

Regarding where to go from there:
As Katta said, it might not be worth the risk of finding a replacement, considering that you need this soon, and its a bottleneck in your production line. Instead, you might consider searching for an editor while you hammer out the first draft of your script.

If it's critical that you find a writer, paid positions are typically more reliable, but still carry risk. Just be sure to let whoever you find know why you're so concerned about the deadline. When people know you have a real-world stake in something, their more likely to communicate with you about it.

Also, don't panic. If your project is missing around 3,000 words of text, that's something any writer with at least some experience can produce in a lazy afternoon. If you absolutely have to hire someone, expect to pay around 3 to 6 cents per word, maybe even less with hobbyist writers, so we're not talking huge amounts of money to finish the project.

It can't hurt to go looking for a replacement writer right now. Make sure to tell your current writer through whatever channels you're using that you ARE starting to look for a replacement, and how much more time your current writer has to report back in before it's too late for your schedule.

My concern was The art which I ended up doing myself, had to learn a lot of things in a short amount of time , I never thought the writer would go missing without telling me , If she would have tolled me At least I had more time to find someone else , It is not like I would kill her over skype ! she was doing that for free so these things are expected to happen and people will probably understand each other ... most of the times !

I wish I could , If it was in my own language I had no problem writing it but right now I can feel my lack of skill in English. But if everything fails I will have to write it myself , at least for the demo till i find a writer.

Sent her a text, telling that I'm looking for another writer and I consider her MIA ! So if I end up writing the demo my self I will find an editor , I hope editing what I wrote wont take much time ! the thing is I'm making a free project and I have 0 budget for it ... so yeah ...

Thanks , well , I wish I could pay a writer , but considering sanctions on my country I have like no way to pay someone ( at least right now ) at the same time I don't have such money at the moment , I hope I can find someone to write the story considering the state i'm in !

When is the deadline? I could chuck out 3k words in due time, but I'd need to know about your project - what is it for, why do you need the words so badly etc.

You don't have to pay me if you really don't have the money, but I want to get credit for the work that I did in some shape or form.

Also, I need to finish a paid job first and have my own projects, so you would have to wait a few days.

One last thing , How about Making a topic , and naming the people which suddenly disappear in middle of projects ? so that every one can check and see who they are recruiting .
I think as long as they say that they are leaving the project, it is okay because life wont always go as planned , but leaving without a single word puts pressure on people and wastes their time and effort !
I also think that the topic should give the chance to that person to come and talk about his reason for leaving the project without notice... like his town lost electricity for 7 days or the hurricane destroyed everything !

I think that is too drastic. Sure, she volunteered but skip out and wasted your time. But making a thread to name people for not doing something they volunteered for free is too drastic and might hurt people (no matter how you mean to softening the words, it's still public humiliation). Now if she took your money and run, that would be another story.

actually my old writer contacted me today telling me she wont be able to do anything for a while. I'm just putting it as she has her own life and problems.

thinking about it , I think you are right , thats just too much and would effect everyone in LSF I guess and I don't want that to happen at all.
