Healer! (GXB, Fantasy, Romance)

The kingdom has been overrun by troubles ever since the new king came to rule five years ago, the people outside his view were left unattended and forced to fight for themselves. The little town you live in has had the same fate stowed upon them. Two years prior it had been attacked and you were left with nothing. With life finally going back to normal you once again get attacked, but this time they fate of the kingdom gets stowed upon you.

With a new found power and responsibilities you have no choice but to follow the knight to the king, meeting even the king of thieves along the way. Forced to work for the one person who has left everyone for dead you begin to wonder if what you’re doing is even remotely useful.

Will you rebel and get revenge for everything the king hasn’t done or will you use your knowledge to improve the king and help him gain respect, be aware that dangers lie in every corner.

The King
Alexander
A man longing for adventure and freedom, his wish resulting in neglecting the people he was sworn to protect. With his aloof personality and rising danger he orders his first knight to bring the one they call ‘Healer’ to his side, to serve and protect him.

The First Knight
Raymond
Loyal to the king and no other, his order was to bring back the person they call ‘Healer’ and let him serve the king even against his will. He knows of the kings easy going personality and is mostly the one taking care of important things. He is strong for his age and has been the king’s Knight ever since he was twelve.

The Bandit King
Lowen
A young bandit strong and wise enough to lead an army. Because of his past he wants to see the king fall, he isn’t afraid to say what he thinks and often causes problems because of that. But under that is someone that wants to make sure everyone gets treated equal.

The Dark Prince
Richard
As the brother of the king hates the fact he is ruling his land, if it hadn’t been for his father five years ago he would have been the one ruling now. Because of this he has been planning to take back what’s rightfully his and does everything to get it back, even if it means starting a war.

“What do you think of this idea?”
It sounds a bit like the typical romance visual novel/dating sim storyline (girl gets sucked into a strange world and has the option to fall in love with the hotties she meets there). However, people who like these kinds of games will be 100% down for that, and it's totally possible to put your own spin and "artistic touch" on even the most typical storylines, so I'd have to play it first to get an idea of the plot in-depth. This is just my initial impression from the brief summary and character descriptions.

“Would you like to play it once it’s done?”
Though I'm not a romantic person, I'm a sucker for dating sims that have an engaging story and well-written characters. I would definitely give it a go, especially if I played and enjoyed the demo.

“Even though everything I used is free, is it still alright to call this my project?”
Of course! The assets you used are all open source, which means the creators WANT you to use them to make games and stories of your own. So long as using premade assets doesn't hinder your own creativity and the story is yours, then go all out!

“What would you expect to see in this story?”
Again, this is just based off the synopsis, but I imagine there being magic, a castle, perhaps some dark evil that the player character must defeat (or join...?), and of course, the opportunity for romance. I would also assume each character plays his own special role in the overall plot, and ending up with a certain character reveals a certain side of the story. Beyond this, though, the intricacies of the plot remain a mystery.

Of course it's still a work in progress and since I'm not terrible good at programming I still need a lot to figure out before I can say it's done.

The stories will all go different ways and even though finding a CG artist might be impossible I try my best to make at least the story enjoyable for you, so I may not include any CG's (Which is a shame.)

Once I finish the demo I will update and hope people enjoy it enough to play the full game once it’s done.
