The Story

Yukari recently graduated from high school just like any other teenagers did. However, she has other more important things to do; making ANIME! With her investment funds, she plans to turn her dream into reality.

Together with her friends, will Yukari make an unforgettable impression on the anime industry or collapse due to the pressure of directing her own anime series?

It sounds like your goal is to mix story and gameplay. This should distinguish your project from the Kairosoft mobile simulation game Anime Studio Story, which doesn't include characters or narrative. That said, your project reminds me of the following:

* Sakura River's Infinite Game Works, which is an independent game about people who aspire to create their own indie games.
* Comic Party, a visual novel about doujinshi creators with some simulation gameplay. The original VN has never been translated, but its two animated spinoffs and two of its official comic spinoffs have professional English localizations.
* Bakuman., which is a comic about aspiring creators becoming professionals.
* Genshiken, which is a comic about visual media fans.
* Otaku no Video, a two-part OAV about animation fans becoming professionals.

Having said all that... how will your story stand out? Do you want to say anything by writing it? Do you plan to just entertain fans with comedy and cuteness? Is there something more to this project than a spiritual adaptation of Shiro Bako?

I assume that the player's actions will influence whether the characters succeed, fail, or somewhere in between. Do the player's actions influence whether the characters will stay friends or have relationship problems? Finally, are the characters just a group of friends, or is there romantic tension between them?

This reminds me of Visual Novel Tycoon, a game which I enjoyed but... I don't think was ever finished?

Anyway, your simulation seems to have a similar premise, but there isn't an awful lot of me to judge your project by yet. I'll keep tabs on this one, though, it seems promising.

The story will be focused on their struggles and development process as they enter a new industry which they have no experience in. I wouldn't say that it's filled with a lot of slice of life but there is some of it because creating a product such as an anime series is very stressful especially when so many things can go wrong.

For now I can only say that the characters in Anime Studio Simulator are wearing a lot of hats and that the only similar thing is that the story focuses on the development process of their one anime so that I can flesh out the process and details of the game / story. They are a group of friends and there is no romance in the story.

The players action will affect which ending they will be getting at the end, and whether they will get a bad end.

I love the art and the idea!
I've seen few visual novels with this theme and this one seems to be promising.
I'm really looking forward to playing it (/^▽^)/.

The art looks gorgeous! Love the character designs! The resource management aspect you've suggested reminds me of 'Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale'. Meeting those deadlines to pay back the debt was crazy stressful, but very fun indeed. X)

Well, good luck with your project! All the best! :D

I learned about your Kickstarter after looking through recent posts on r/visualnovels. That said, I think you'll benefit by updating the subject line of your discussion thread here on Lemma Soft, so that people know about the KS.

I kind of like the character art so far. However, in my opinion, the characters look a bit similar to each other. Perhaps some of them should have distinguishing features or fashion styles. Maybe some of them will benefit by being visibly older/younger, or having a different body shape.

I updated the title. Yukari (the main character red hair) was designed to be much older while the sisters (Yuuko and Sumiko) were designed to have the younger look.
