Hi, everyone,
 
I'm m0RV.  We've just gone live with our fledgling project, Voln.  It's a dark fantasy focused on the exploration of hardcore sex.  Some of it's features include permadeath, exploration, and RPG combat with up to 4 allies.

Voln is an RPG / VN hybrid with a branching story and plenty of free-roaming adventure.
It's ambitious, but we're off to a good start.
 
 
 

So here's a preview of the map.  This is the entirety of the world, so far.  Pretty barren at the moment, but we're working hard to add new events, new encounters, new quests, and of course, new monsters.
 
 
 

And here's one of the three flavors of the elfin bandit.  Question is, is it a boy or a gurl?  Hmm.  I guess you'll have to discover for yourself.  There are more than 60 written sex scenes involving this enemy.  We like to be thorough.
 
A little history about us:  We are an assembly of fringe artists with a passion for the lewd and vigorous.  But more importantly for building a game, our technical team is veteran talent.  Our game is one built on a simple concept:  We want to make a complex, beautiful world that is nothing more than the player's personal @#$% toy [edited for general courtesy].  And we want to make making it our fulltime job.
 
Now I'd call our team a steadfast and patient one, but what we're doing now is nothing compared to what we could do with more means...

Ignoring the initial reply for a moment, I'm just wondering about the decision to sell the demo for a monetary value. Assuming the post isn't a typo, you state that people must pay 5 bucks for the demo. Given that the entire point of a demo is a free snippet of the game to help entice more consumers and to generate an interested audience, it does seem contradictory to then put that demo behind a paywall. Even with the price being so low, it being outright stated as a demo coupled with the fact it's already a game that's incredibly erotic which will likely make the game more niche in it's appeal seems like it will just further split up people who try the demo and thus become invested.

Not trying to be hostile, it just seems like a decision that will only bring more disadvantages than the financial positive it incurs.

Oh of course. I was mainly pointing my concerns towards that because it also feeds into concerns raised by the initial reply (a demo behind a paywall also seems to indicate some weird decision making and thus the product not being as it was initially advertised if you're being forced to pay just to actually try the game. I did actually intend to follow up on the initial reply (especially since I'd heard of these practices from this guy first around a week or two back and then saw the Facebook post in question) once he had replied to my first comment, but it turns out he hasn't so I haven't been able to actually ask.
