Tips for newbies to games like TOL1

( safety save and I hope this is the right forum for this since it is about TOL1 in ways..this is not really meant to be whiny or anything...just noticed that alot of people seemed to be complaining about the same things over and over again and if I remember correctly , they are things that shouldn't come as a surprise so much to gamers unless they're totally new to these types of games and stuff... )
It seems to me alot of the reviewers are complaining about silly things such as "oh what was up with the mushroom battle".
It's like one person said , games like these shouldn't be taken too seriously.
( note from me - unless of course the creator makes it apparent that it's a serious story...play River Trap or
Newsflash! :
Japanese inspired / ren'ai games do not have to make sense.
Unless you're already an otaku , of course you're not going to understand the humor in the game. ( It makes sense that Japanese humor is much different from American humour , yes? )
That way you'll understand the humour better.
Another famous saying is everyone's a critic.
True , there are some people like me who don't believe any criticism is "good" criticism.
"I had to rename SCRIPT.RPY to script.rpy to work" One shouldn't have have to rename something just in order to get the game to work. It's a minor thing but still annoying.
