Fun and Interesting Stuff

#1 Post by kara24601 » Tue Mar 15, 2005 9:30 am

( some of the links aren't nessicarily about Japanese things yet i thought people might be able to get ideas from them / know about them...also , of course , I / you may not like or agree with certain viewpoints and opinions from some sites...but I included them 'cause it's important to show both sides , no matter how stupid the other side may be. *laughs* I apoligize for any offensive stuff but some sites have some fun non-offensive material mixed in with their offensive stuff)
I apoligize if I've somehow offended anyone myself , it's not my intent. I simply like the word "otaku" and do not mean it in an offensive way...I understand the history behind it and I would either very carefully or ...more likely , never...use it if I ever get lucky enough to visit / live in Japan. Gomen nasai.

[looks at kara's list of sites] hey, I know some of those sites (actually, two to be exact). I have an account for the sims 2 (which I've removed to save space.), however, it's not MegamanZ... somebody stole that name already  ! as far as the animelyrics.com site, there's a couple songs on there that I'm waiting for someone to translate (such as "GARAKUSII*Bang!Bang!" AKA "Galaxy*Bang!Bang!"). I hate being Japanese illiterate. this is why. (granted, I have a patched version of love hina advance on my computer, but I already 100% the game before finding the IPS file.)

Just found something fun: Art.com ArtPad.

It's like Oekaki except no membership needed and it has a little less features but all in all, pretty good. Here's somthing I did: http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?iel3hy1eu5hs

lol This didn't take me that long. Whenever I rough sketch something, it goes pretty fast. When we're talking final versions especially CGs, though, that's when it takes a bit longer...

Anyways, she's something I just doodled from the top of my head. I guess you could place her in Suikoden. She does fit the warrior/knight type. How's the Suikoden 4 artwork, btw (aside from "very nice")? One of these, I mean to get my hands on the Suikoden 2 artbook - maybe even Suikoden 3 as well.

Aww, no tinami love?

http://www.tinami.com

For a daily dose of lovely arts.

There's http://www.gameha.com too, but it's a little more sloppy and harder to navigate if you don't know the language (IMO). Also, it's got more porn, which is a good or a bad thing, depending. :D

The art in suikoden four is better than two but worst than 3.

All the characters look sooooo plain...I could not tell if i was suppose to recrute them or not...Their is really nothing to compare them to because it takes place before suikoden 1..so their is only 3 repeating characters.

http://drowtales.com/

it's a manga-style webcomic. this is how I came across this comic... I haven't read much of it but based on the flash and what little I've seen, it seems to be good quality stuff.

I love drowtales but wish they'd get somebody else to write for them if they aren't going to try and improve themselves...I mean the artist(s) ...and I know it's weird , but I use "them" when I don't know the gender. I think alot of people do that but I'm not sure...anyway , I also hate the term drow...but I also hate "dark elf" and I can't come up with anything better sounding myself. It's annoying.

I quote from the first post:
some of the links aren't nessicarily about Japanese things yet i thought people might be able to get ideas from them / know about them
Basically - links of pages you think are fun and/or informative to others.
