How do I render characters without backgrounds?

I want to use Daz3D to make characters for a game in Ren’py. The image of Eileen below is a good example of what I cannot achieve! Her image has no background, so it may be overlaid cleanly on the monument image.

I want to overlay characters that I create in Daz. But whenever I render a character in Daz it ends up with a black background that shows up when I use it as an overlay in Ren’py. Is there some trick with Daz that would let me render characters without any black (or other) background, so they will overlay cleanly like Eileen above?

I’ve posted in the Daz forum but thought a post here as well would be a good idea. Many thanks for any advice you can give!

Click on the 'Environment Tab' and change 'Backdrop' to 'None'. Also, make sure you save your image as a PNG.

Moved to Asset Creation: Art, because even though you want to put the images into a Ren'Py game, your topic isn't about Ren'Py itself.

And, to be actually helpful with your question: your image has to be in a format that allows transparency. .jpg, for example, does not do that. You will want to go for the aforementioned .png format and make sure that everything around your image is set as transparent.

Have you saved your character with a clear background as a .png file? If you save it as a .jpg it will have a white or black background because .jpg cant have 'clear' space.
