Building to android - null returned 1 error build failed

BUILD FAILED E:\Downloads\renpy-6.99.12.4-sdk\rapt\android-sdk-r24.4.1\tools\ant\build.xml:928: The following error occurred while executing this line: E:\Downloads\renpy-6.99.12.4-sdk\rapt\android-sdk-r24.4.1\tools\ant\build.xml:946: null returned: 1

Also, I let Ren'py automatically download rapt and the Android SDK files. I reinstalled it many times and it is still happening

line 302 says:

[aapt] Unable to add 'E:\Downloads\renpy-6.99.12.4-sdk\rapt\assets\x-... ...exe': Zip add failed (-2147483648)

With the numeric being exactly that number (which is 2^31 by the way) I would guess you are hitting a memory or file size limit.

Have you tried building with a smaller image set?
