Hi all!.
This thread is aimed at everyone, but especially to programmers and enthusiasts of Visual Novels
Thanks to this forum, a few days ago I downloaded two programs (Monogatari and WebStoryEngine)
I noticed that these programs have great capacity and seem to be created with JavaScript and CSS.
Although it was easy to learn to build a story in these programs, I finally did not succeed in uploading to the internet.
(Because I have little knowledge to lodge files in webhost..etc.
I have asked for help with a step-by-step tutorial, but they do not help me)
To solve this problem, I thought that it is possible to use the online platform called "Twine".
Twine allows JavaScript and CSS to be used, so my idea is to develop a JavaScript and CSS code, to turn Twine into an online Engine.
(Attention!. By saying "turn Twine into an online engine", I mean a Twine that has an appearance similar to the visual novel (images, sprays, character, text box, menu choices ..))
**multimedia files (images, video, gift, audio ..), can be hosted on google drive
It's possible?
Here a videotutorial of how Twine can have the appearance of VN.

Twine as visual novel engine?
New things that I find
I have continued my search, found some new things that I find important to share.
There are some projects although unfortunately they are somewhat outdated.
One of them is possible to download and study, but it is built with an old version of Twine.
This is called "Love Classic"

Then there are some comments that a certain user ("CoraBlue user") made a few years ago, although it is not possible to access their work.

Re: Twine as visual novel engine?
While Twine is usually used to make Interactive Stories I can see it been used to make the Interactive Story more visual novel like.
I made a game in Twine and then I turned it into a VN. Porting the story from one format to the other was rather interesting.
I would say in Twine your text comes first and once you have your story figured out you can add visual elements to it. The hyperlinks have to be meaningful because here the text comes first.
In a visual novel the pictures tell the story far more than the text.
Game in Twine(Iteractive Story) ------- https://videavice.itch.io/paranoid-kid
Game in Belle(visual novel) -------------- https://videavice.itch.io/paranoid-kid- ... le-version

Re: Twine as visual novel engine?
Hello,
I'm currently implementing a Twine 2 story format designed to act as a bridge between Twine and Monogatari.
Github: https://github.com/haroldo-ok/twine-monogatari/
History format: http://www.haroldo-ok.com/twine-monogat ... /format.js
Demo: http://www.haroldo-ok.com/twine-monogat ... /demo.html
You can either play the demo from your browser, or import the demo into the Twine 2 editor, though, for now, you will need to use Twine 2 from HTTP rather than HTTPS. (that is, http://twinery.org/2/, rather than https://twinery.org/2/ )
This is a work in progress. I'll make a better announcement when I have everything ready.
