Installing frameworks

#1 Post by Dave the Twisted »

I was wanting to play around with the DSE found here: http://renpy.org/wiki/renpy/Frameworks
My problem now is, I have the .zip, but I've found nothing on the wiki stating where to put it and how to make it show up in the "templates" menu when making a new game. Odds are I'm overlooking something very obvious, but here's hoping I'm not...
For my next project I'm going to need a working toilet, a pair of pliers, a jar of cheez-whiz spread, 100 q-tips, a TV remote, a gearshift lever and a whole lot of duct tape. This is gonna be awesome.

well, I don't know much about the templates options, but the frameworks section on the wiki is for upload classes that make things easier, right? If you read through the dse documentation, right at the bottom it mentions that the zip file is an example game that uses the framework (as is the other two frameworks' zip files as well). If you want to use it in your game you just read how the classes work and copy the script files mentioned in the documentation.

Actually, installation is easier than you think. Inside the .ZIP is a folder that you place in the main Ren'Py directory. It's basically if you just scooped up your own game's folders and shoved it in a zip. Also, the DSE will not show under "template," but you you will load it from the "select project" option. :)
