Different coloured text boxes for normal and NVL (Solved)

#1 Post by Plotline_Progenitor » Thu Jan 09, 2020 7:38 pm

Hi Lemmasoft, boy it's been more than a year since I showed up here

Anyway I'm nearly done with a kinetic novel I'm making in Ren'Py, I wanted to go into nvl mode to display some credits at the end. Problem is I've been using a white textbox up until that point and I want the credits to go onto a black background where the NVL textbox isn't standing out from the background.

Is there some way I can make the NVL mode a black text box while the rest of the game is white? This is also something that comes in right at the end of the game so a simpler method which just switches the colour of the textbox and text mid game would also be an option

Hope to hear from you soon and nice to see you all again :)

The background image of the NVL textbox is by default a png image, located on your game project folder, "gui/nvl.png", so you can just swap it for a black one (get it from another project with black ui, like the Tutorial, or a new project). You can change this in screens.rpy in the style for nvl_window in your screens.rpy file by editing this line:

Code: Select all

background "gui/nvl.png"
Or you can just remove it if you're not going to use NVL elsewhere.
The most important step is always the next one.
