BGM tracks that just don't work

#1 Post by nihilloligasan »

From what I've heard, there are a lot of things that can make BGM tracks bad-cheap-sounding MIDI instruments, poor tuning, music that doesn't fit the style of the vn, music that draws too much attention to itself, poor recording/sound quality, etc. However, whenever I hear people talk about a vn's soundtrack, they rarely ever go into detail regarding what makes the tracks good or bad. As someone who is composing for a vn, I would like to see some examples of what you guys would consider to be bad BGM tracks from a vn with an explanation of why they don't work. Please note that I don't intend for this thread to promote making fun of or harassing composers, I simply wish to look at examples of insufficient tracks and analyze why they don't work well.
