The Craft of the Samurai
Hello everyone!
Let me introduce a short visual novel inspired from the works by the masters of Japanese cinema: Masaki Kobayashi, Akira Kurosawa, Hideo Gosha.
Synopsis.
Japan. 17th century. On the outskirts of a village, an old craftsman toils his days away. He bides his time to pass his business on to his heirs and retire from work. But this is until he is forced to take up the sword and revisit the path of violence.
Visual style.
Matthew Ryan's atmospheric illustrations are inspired by the masterpieces of samurai cinema. Among them: 'Seppuku', 'Yojimbo', 'Three Outlaw Samurai'.
