Phone messaging app

Greetings, I'm trying to create an interactive phone which I think I've done a half-decent job at although the problem comes with the messaging app, I'm not quite sure how to get it to work at all. What I'm going for is an app that looks like any normal messaging app where the player can receive messages from NPCs as well send messages to NPCs while having a choice between 2 or more different texts. For reference, something like that found in Being a DIK is what I'm trying to achieve.
