[Game project] - Iluminaire: Quest for higuer Heaven

#1 Post by Otaku Dash » Thu Jul 28, 2005 3:05 am

Hiya all! It's been a while since I posted on this forums.

Well the news are these: long time ago I told that I was going to do Kaiser: Blade of the soul. However currently I do not have the means or the knoledge to undertake such a massive project.... and I have no experience at game making. So being I'm letting Kaiser for later adventures, and I'm starting a small project named Iluminaire: Quest for higuer heaven. I'm trying to make it a saga especially for Ren'py... accoording to the success of this first chapter.

As I said, I'm gonna use Renpy for It (*goes to check the Ren'py threads*), so for a while I'll be studying how to work with it. If all goes well I'll post news soon. :D

By saga you mean... this game is going to be just a first part, or that it's going to be a self-contained story within (let's call it) Kaiser universe?

Wish you all the best with planning and finding resources. Do you have a timeframe? One month, perhaps...? Well, it's possible... :P  Jk, take your time and good luck in making this one happen.

Thanks for the reply Mikey! :D What i mean by saga is that this is going to be the first chapter (or "Part") if a completely new game, nothing to do with Kaiser.

Unfortenatly I haven't established a timetable yet, because I'm learning how to handle Ren'py right now. Once this is over I'll "may" set a timetable... being "may" the keyword here. :P

I'm almost finished with this part of the history... i'll post about it soon. :)

Oh...forgot to tell that it is a fantasy related Visual novel.

Hey megaman Z! :D Yep I'm back... and maybe i'll finally be able to do something :P

I really didn't notice that  .... did it subconciouslly. As I stated I haven't a set Timetable yet... so it would mean that I may be able to set one when I get the hang of Ren'py.

Hey Otaku Dash! Good to hear you're starting a much more managable game this time around. Best of luck with it. And hey, if you need a timetable, how about doing IntRenAiMo and aim for a March 31st deadline? ;)

Megaman Z -> The only thing that can go wrong is the result of my exams.... worked for the first wave like hell and the results weren't so good :x  Let's see if the results of the 2nd are better shall we..... :P :?

Eclipse -> Thanks eclipse! :D Hey entering IntRenAiMO isn't a bad idea at all.... however the folks back at home are going to enter holidays... and stilll have to check the result of my exams, wich may mess a bit my schedule.... but not a bad idea at all. :D

Well trying not to disclose many details about the history, our hero Keith Sweitzer needs to go to a "special place" due to a letter he recieved with important information. However due to his lack of direction, he ends up lost in Gaia Woods. SO this first chapter is actually Keith trying to find the place where he will start his "real" adventure. For now this will suffice.... :P

Again...welcome back, and I like the new avatar =)

Hey musical! how have you been?

Glad you like the idea! I stopped on it for a while because I'm on holidays with my family, making it hard to work... (I'm not being lazy! I'M NOT!!)

I'm please to announce that I'm almost finishing the Scenes diagram (aka flow of the history :P), and I'm proceding to the script and dialogue. :D

Btw...have to get some materials... I can't seem to find my Photoshop cd... so I guess I'll go for photos for BG.

On a personal note to Eclipse: I must say that your Ren'py toturial is really helping me out. I'm starting to get the hang of it.
Btw.... sometime ago you said you were seeking a freeware Icon making program? well I think I found one.. I'll post the details soon.

(And I love the renovated Ren'ai Games and Manga toturials)

Glad you find them useful! If it helps bring someone that much closer to releasing a game, I'm happy I took the time to make them. In other words, there's one less excuse for someone not to release a game... ^_~

Really? Fantastic! Junichi also found a freeware Icon program but if you have another alternative - the more the merrier, I say. :D

Speaking of which, it still isn't posted on your site... If you're too busy, I could write a tutorial for it if you'd like.

Otaku Dash >>
What's the name of that program- I'm curious to know if it's the same one I found(anituner) ...

If you could, that'd be terrific! ...And yeah, I'm a bit swamped (okay, I may be understating it a bit... or two...) <.<' ^_^;

Well, if you want to give the BG photos to me, I can play around with them to make them feel more like they should be in a ren'ai game.

Only if you want me to though.

Anyways, PM me back, okay?
