I have a question, i make a VN/rpg hentai game, i have found a music for rpg in dl site !

But i dont know if i can use for an commercial project ?
What mean Copyright-free Sound Source !

I will want respect the Copyright !

That's without *permission* (and is just a generic default statement having nothing to do with the individual work).

The "copyright-free" materials are exactly that; designed to be purchased by game makers and used within their games/dojins/websites/wev. However, each circle has their own individual licensing rules, and it can be hard to read the licenses since they're in Japanese. Some people may only be licensing music for specific purposes.

Most likely, it's fine to use it in a commercial game if you've paid for the license, but you'll need to read the license that comes with it as best you can to figure out what the terms and conditions are.

We actually buy all our music on DL site (Japanese version) - I think we even used some music from T.M.Bach in The Stolen Diamond Ring, so I'll take a look at their Japanese licence and report later.

In general, "copyright-free" in Japanese context doesn't mean free of copyright. It means "royalty free", some creators even write "copyright free" and then say "we retain the copyright" on the same page (or write "free" and list the price )

It's a reasonable assumption that if it's being sold as royalty-free material, it's okay to use in commercial games unless it says otherwise. It's also a reasonable safeguard to credit the material even if you're not required to (and you often aren't, with royalty-free) Just In Case.

Some circles will also have 'please let us know what you're using it in' in their licenses. It's probably polite to drop people an email so they feel appreciated.

Thats not much of a license..... all it says is how to use your music pack and contents, generally... copy the whole thing
