[OPEN] [REVSHARE] Looking for BG artists, UI designers, Editors for a Spooktober project

#1 Post by Epschy »

Hey! I'm Epschy a writer who's designing a visual novel for the upcoming Spooktober jam alongside a team of talented artists.

We're looking for a background artist, an UI designer, a monster artist and a copy editor/proofreader for our project.
Below is more information of what we are expecting of each role:

- For the backgrounds: expected workload: 4 or 5 backgrounds anime-style in the period of 3 weeks, though it can be adjusted depending on the artist's availability
- For the UI: medium complexity UI, beautiful but no need for it to be extravagant. The game is being made on Ren'Py.
- Copy editing: checking to see if the writing's sounds natural and if it conveys the expected feelings to the reader - note that the game is written by a non-native English speaker so a considerable amount of mistakes are to be expected.
- Monster designer: design and draw 3 creatures

About the VN:

Name: TBD
Genre: Psychological Horror, Horror and... slice-of-life romance
Resolution: 1920x1080
Expected duration: 45 minutes to 1:30

----------

Plot outline:

It starts with our main character desperate, running from bizarre and scary creatures. They're everywhere and, in short, the MC is really scared. At one point he runs a lot, trying to mislead some creature is running after him, and he is panting. The creature in question would be the most scary, fast and grotesque out of the many weird creatures there are there. It runs after the MC, it let him without any possible escape, and when it was going to attack him, the despair ends when he wakes up to the real world - a cute girl takes out the VR device he was using.

He wakes to a party with cute girls and lots of fun and good food! They chat hapilly, and the goal here is to make a dialogue that moves the reader, in the sense of making him/her get good feelings while reading. Then, at the very ending of the game, the main character sees the shade of a creature that he (and the reader) was so scared of while on the VR device - kinda like a cliffhanger ending

If you're interested in joining our project, please don't hesitate to contact me via private messages, Twitter (@Epschy) or via email.
Note that the project is made by a team of volunteers and therefore, we regrettably can't offer any monetary compensation aside from sharing the revenue our game generates.

Thank you!
