Outsets (demo)

#1 Post by mikey » Sun Dec 04, 2005 10:06 pm

Dream Towers Studios released the demo of their dating sim project Outsets. You can grab it on their download page.

I haven't played it yet, got to get home first, but for those interested, the demo has 56 megabytes

Some screenshots can be found here:

Hmm, neat.

So, mikey, you got secret agents working for you as well? (Read: "How did you find out about this game?!?" O_O )

I think I got to Outsets through a link, but I can't quite remember where... :? I do have two people who occasionally tip me off or provide some materials, but the data gathering is a matter of a few websites and random google searches from time to time (by data gathering I mean for the encyclopedia, it has had Outsets included for some time now).

I was able to run the demo, but it freezes from time to time and is full of minor glitches. So I haven't even gotten out of my house yet (in the game). But it really seems to be full of options and things to do and it's really nice, even though many will probably say the interface is a bit hodgepodge. Hopefully I'll have a proper playthrough soon...

Mikey said, "I was able to run the demo, but it freezes from time to time and is full of minor glitches. So I haven't even gotten out of my house yet (in the game)..."

On my 700mhz PC, the character movement was r-e-a-l-l-y slow. And I couldn't figure out how to get past the first screen. Checked in several places, but the girl who supposedly hid in the bushes wasn't anywhere.

Is this a promising game? I think so. Just looking at the names of places/things makes me interested in seeing more.

So says the Taiyaki Fan.

700mhz PC and it's running REAAAAAAAALLLLLY slow?! Think I'll have to wait till I get a new computer then...it's too bad <SIGH> That, and the 56 MBs is a BIT long for someone on dialup...

56MB? :whistles: So... should the game ever be completed, it'll probably be over 100MBs...

Well, they talk about disabled functions, so perhaps it will be just 70MB ^_^. But still, that size is kind of terrifying.

Hmmm,... by the looks of it, this project is on indefinite hold (which equals to it being frozen). It may follow the Town Heat path, an excellent demo, discontinued :(
Sad, sad.

Wow o.o I'm honored that people were acutally interested in Outsets.

I never planned on icing it, but just became way too busy. I start school for game development in winter, so I intend to start work on it again, but in the future. I might make a flash version of it though to keep me doing something in until I finsh my studies, but, if I do, it may take me a while to complete it since I also work on Outsets Community

Thank you all ^^ For some reason, I just got a boost of moral. And sorry for acutally replying to this dead topic >.< I just now noticed this site.

Six months since the last post... that's not a dead topic  - in fact just now while browsing the Love Revo blogI realized that the Love Revo game project is about six YEARS old... and it's been revived as we speak...

Hmmm, I'd love to see Outsets done, in Flash or otherwise. So I support the idea. :P Go for it. There are a lot of people IMO who would happily play it, in fact there isn't yet something with Outsets gameplay out yet (something that is finished), for most of the time the games are visual novels, and that's also a factor why Outsets felt fresh. It has more of a dating sim in it. You can check here to see what others are up to (as far as I know). I got the impression that it didn't take you an awful lot of time to make the demo (IIRC it was done for a contest?), so I hoped it could be done relatively quickly. Well, maybe that was just an impression though.

Thanks for stopping by ^_^, good luck with Outsets.
