Wacom Graphire 4, although I think that's basically the same thing as what the Bamboo is now? Someday I dream of having a Cintiq *dreamy sigh*

Well, I do have a Graphire 4. Tho, I really don't use it much after getting a Cintiq. I never even want to go back to pens and paper after having used the Cintiq.

I use a Wacom Bamboo (pen and touch, med). It's adequate for newbies like myself who don't work much with it but the nib wears down pretty fast after extensive use. (It comes with 3 replacements though so it's not so bad.)

Duredhel > I don't notice the slowness, but I do notice that there's times where the pressure sensitivity and the pen go wonky when you're near the edge of the screen. It takes time to get used to, but I'm actually really enjoying the Cintiq now. The only fear that comes along with it is scratching it and just.. taking overall care of it.

@Charmwitch - A lot of artists don't, then again, a lot of artists do ^^, it depends on how quick you like to be with the pen.

I use a Wacom Bamboo Fun too and it's nice enough for starter and medium levels, however I'd also recommend Intuos if you're looking for something more professional since it has more pressure sensitivity levels.

I use a Digipro tablet, model WP8060, it's 8" x 6" and it cost about 30-40 bucks.

I always thought drawing tablets didn't make a difference and that if you practice enough, you'll get good with any tablet. However, I went from a super cheap Bamboo ($40) to a Wacom Intuos 4 ($300+) one and it made a huge difference. I still suck, but I suck much less than I did.
These are the only 2 I've tried. there could be some law of diminishing returns (aka you buy a $100 tablet and it works 50% better than a $40 tablet... but a $300 tablet only works %15 better than the $100 tablet...) concept somewhere in there where the best bang for your buck is "blah" price range... but I haven't read or messed around with tablets enough to find the sweet spot.

I'm using a Bamboo Fun right now and it gets the job done and not badly at all at that. I plan to get a better tablet one day, but probably only when my Bamboo Fun utters its last breath.

I have yet to acquire a tablet. It's hard persuading my parents to let me buy one for myself, especially if drawing isn't going to be my future career. Anyway, I was wondering how long the tablets actually last. I think within this week, I'm going to buy the Wacom Bamboo Fun.

My Bamboo's lasted four years and it's still working the same as I bought it.

OwO/ I'm a Genius user! I have one of the big models:9x12.
It works perfectly for me. I have it for around 3 years and I had problem just once with my tablet pen. I had to change it, because it started acting strange for quite some time and I broke it when I was trying so hard to fix it. XD But that was one abused pen. It had fallen on the ground a million times and other stuff. >.> Now- I really-really treasure my new one and I don't let anyone touch it! Ò.ó

Re: What kind of drawing tablets do you guys use?
I recently bought a 10x6.5 tablet from monoprice.com that costs only $40. I had a limited budget, and it's my first time buying a tablet for myself, but it works well for me, and its specs are similar to the wacom pen and touch, which costs over twice as much. It's not a brand-name wacom, which I hope to get someday, but for a low-budget artist like me, it suits me very well.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.
