Hello! This is my first post and game, so sorry if I make a lot of mistakes. >_<"
This is probably going to be a slow progress project since I'm doing all of this myself. But i'll try to finish it as quick as possible!

Title: Coffee Shop
Genre: Slice of Life, Romance, Comedy, Drama.
A FREE GxB visual novel made for fun.
Obtainables: 3 or 4? not sure.

Plot: Life seems to be getting tougher and tougher for Lena. Her parents seem to be hardly home anymore and her older sister is going through a difficult divorce. Not to mention she's recently went through a messy break-up which she hasn't mentioned to anyone beside her best friend. To distract Lena from her problems her friend introduces her to a new job at a local coffee shop which allow Lena to witness the different problems of others.

(As you noticed there's no major plot or story line here so depending on the choices you make, you explore different sub plots that revolve around Lena and try to resolve them.)

(The main setting will be the coffee shop Lena works at.)

Protagonist-

Name: Akiko
Age: 17
Likes: Cats
Hates: Karaoke
Akio is described from others as a "quiet, plain and boring" girl. She dislikes standing out. She is quiet a mature girl who is mostly found reading a book or taking naps under a tree. Oh, she also owns a kitten named Shadow.

Characters- (I'll keep it brief for some people cause I don't wanna spoil anything)


Name: Mai
Age: 17
Likes: Horror movies
Hates: Birds
Mai is always found to be a happy girl despite the situation. She has an ambition to become a chef and is also Akio's best friend.


Name: Tei
Age: 17
Likes: Dogs
Hates: Reading
Tei is a classmate of Akio. They aren't on very good terms due to their opposites which seem to clash in some way. To Akio he seems like a immature boy with no manners.

Name: ???
A high school boy who lives near Lena. He always seems to be smelling like coffee.


Name: Asuka
Age:24
Likes: Tea
Hates: Being Shouted at
Asaka is Lena's older sister.She's pretty cheerful and warm unlike Akio. Despite her young age Asaka married early with her first love and moved out as newlyweds. Although now she faces problems with her husband and near a divorce situation.

Name: Mini
Age: 17
Likes: Exercising
Hates: Lazy people
Putting aside her young age, Mini is the supervisor and assistant manager of the coffee shop Akio applies to. She's active and seems to be always busy with joy.

Welcome to the forums, Melon.

If you - or someone you know - has worked at a real restaurant, then that may help you with writing. It could be a good way to understand what waitstaff do in their daily duties. It could help you think up ideas for scenes and the overall story.

There are a number of games (both romance and general) about cafes. But I'm not sure if you'll benefit by reading or playing them. It's probably best to just focus on your writing.

If you're trying to create a reverse harem story with three or more potential love interests, then go ahead. Right now it looks like you have a main character with a lot on her mind, a best friend character, a young man who is a rival, and a young man who your main character doesn't yet know. At this point, you could create a story or game which is just about friendship. It's possible to focus on how Lena tries to distract herself from her problems with work and with forming platonic relationships -- she may want to hold off on love for a while. But again, this is your choice.

Finally, it sounds like your story takes place at an ordinary coffee shop. Even if it has no theme or unusual aspects, make sure to portray the place where your story is happening.
