These are the steps to control.

In a certain country during the late 20th century, a series of strange deaths occurred. All of the victims were found with their bodies putrefied, even though they shouldn't have died more than a few hours ago. This, however, stopped as quickly as it had come, only to be replaced by a series of strange disappearances. The government tried to hush it up, because they had no leads, while a secret private detective group went on a manhunt for the perpetrator. These cases closed upon the unfortunate deaths of said group in an accident. Years passed.

All was well, until the decaying corpse of Mikaela Lane turned up in an abandoned warehouse.

This story is set a year after that - about a young female governmental mercenary, Sho Reilen, who is skilled in the use of swords. She has something she wants - to confront Kaison Voltaire, a young man who seeks to hunt her down in revenge for the death of his beloved friend, Mikaela.

Crimson Rafflesia is a story about truth and lies, love and hate, and a field of decaying flowers.

About: A crazed, villainous, cheerful child with no conscience. She is skilled with swords, and wields a rapier half her height. A childish girl who usually doesn't talk much, but also has a mad obsession with taunting Kaison Voltaire, and can easily kill someone without blinking. Quite a despicable person and seeks pleasure from destroying others.

About: Kaison Voltaire is a 17-year-old young man whose father was a fencer. He is usually calm, composed and controls his emotions well, much unlike his ability to control heat and fire - an ability which had plagued him all his life, uncannily and ironically similar to his parents' own fiery grave. All his life he's never had a real place he could call home, having been moved from country to country by whichever guardian was willing to take him. When he first crossed paths with Sho Reilen, it was when he saw the latter murder his best friend, Mikaela Lane, in cold blood.

Shirley Primer is Aurelia's 17-year-old younger sister. A soft-spoken and kindhearted girl, she was, however, caught in an accident in her youth that left her wheelchair-bound. She is a sickly girl who's recently been hospitalized again from a psychosomatic eye injury, from which she is recovering. Kaison seems to find her familiar, somehow.

About: Layner is a young coffee shop boy. He frequently has his head in the clouds, not being able to take anything seriously, if anything at all. The dilapidated little excuse of a coffee shop he maintains is supposedly listed under his parents' names, but he takes care of it all by himself. He seems to know Mikaela Lane, but knows nothing of the true events behind her death, or any of the secrets behind it. After all, he's just an ordinary boy, seventeen years old, looking forward to the prospect of adulthood...

Heath is the current head of the Perrison family, a group which does quite a few odds and ends for the government, and has direct connections with Prime Minister George Faraday, who barely shows himself. He has some rather eccentric hobbies, and is currently being targeted by the Goldsteins, a rich family that shows some opposition to the government.

Flora Lane

Flora was a five-year-old girl who was torn from her sister, Mikaela, during the civil war. She died more than a decade before the beginning of the story in a tragic mass incident. A pity, indeed - she was a friendly, cheerful girl, admired by everyone in the orphanage she was from. Yet still, there is more to her than meets the eye, and heaven knows what kind of imprint she has left in history, as well as what she will continue to leave...


A boy who is extremely devoted to the National Liberation Front.

The art definitely looks good. The main character also seems pretty interesting.

You're focusing a lot on color here -- is this just to add flavor, or will color have an important role in the story or imagery?

@Bairaagi: The colours, hmm, it's mostly imagery. It does form a rather great theme in the story, especially since the main character likes painting. And killing people, but let's not go there, shall we?
