Light Apprentice (mobile game, a sort of VN?)

Stuff I found on Siliconera today: the upcoming iOS/Android game Light Apprentice. It began life as a webcomic, which seems to be archived on Graphicly. As far as I can tell from the article, the app mght be a visual novel. Why? Because it's described as being primarily a comic, but the player will have to make choices. Combat will also be interactive.

Maybe it's just me, but the concept of an adventure story with some gameplay sounds a bit similar to Avan Story. Unfortunately, that project hasn't been updated since fall 2012.
