Sponsorship for projects
My general goal here is to increase the number of games I myself would like to play. I have a couple of projects of my own and I don't want to start new ones until they are finished, so I decided I can help other people make games I'd like.
What I offer:
If you're a writer and want to create a game, but are worried that you won't be able to get the art you want for free, I can pay for the art for your project for you. If I like your idea, that is. Of course I have my preferences but I don't want to list them here not to limit potentially interesting ideas.
Details:
Free project (no commercial, kickstarter, pay-what-you-want, donations)
No fan projects
I won't be paying anything to you directly, I'll be paying the artist. If you for whatever reason won't be able to continue working on the project I'll be free to use the art as I want.
There's no exact sum, everything will depend on the project.
I will have the last say in deciding the artist, of course I won't hire anyone without your approval and you're more than welcome to suggest exact artists, but I can't guarantee that I'll hire them.
In all other aspects this is your project. Of course since I'll be checking your updates I'll most probably have some comments and suggestions but it'll be entirely up to you to follow them or not, it won't affect our agreement.
How to apply:
For now you just have to send general information about your project (in the form below) and I'll reply on what I can offer.
1. Genre and plot description
2. What is the most interesting for you in this plot? (I don't ask for an essay here, a short answer is enough, ex.: zombies, teacher-student romance, working in a law firm, people getting random magic abilities, court intrigues, cultural differences, whatever)
3. Rating (all ratings are fine)
4. Pairings if any (BxG, GxB, BxB, GxG, AllxAll, etc.)
5. Gameplay (KN, VN, sim, RPG,...)
6. What is already done, if anything? First of all, I mean how much is already written here.
7. Estimated wordcount and deadlines (how much you can write weekly - please be realistic, you'll have to follow these deadlines)
8. Sample of your writing (if something is already written for the project, then an extract from it). Finished projects, if any, how long your longest text is.
9. Other teammembers, if any.
10. How much art you'll need: sprites, backgrounds, cgs (estimates)
11. Desired art style (or artist if you already have someone in mind)
12. Will you need help with other assets?
If you have any questions please feel free to ask here or in PM.
Accepted:
Sibling Experiment
The Unfortunate Six - test failed
Out For Blood - the writer resigned

Re: Sponsorship for projects
I've been actively doing something similar in the background for some time now. Unfortunately it seems if I don't produce the projects myself they all get abandoned and my resources donated all get shoved in tm 'spares' folder. Still, I commend you for taking this on as straining as it is. There's a lot of great stories around that otherwise wouldn't see fruitition. If you need any help or advise, I'll be around. good luck!

Re: Sponsorship for projects
Thank you! I was suspecting something like this, but still want to be optimistic))Kato wrote:I've been actively doing something similar in the background for some time now. Anyway I can always ask for permission to continue the project on my own or add the art to creative commons, so nothing will get wasted)

Re: Sponsorship for projects
I'm really interested in this, though deadlines are something I cannot agree to; especially on my own project that I'm doing for fun out of my own free time. Plus, I think it'd be best if I finish a project before I do this kind of thing. It'd be ill mannered to do this when I have a record of dropping projects.

Re: Sponsorship for projects
Yes, of course, finished writing will be the best, but I can't really expect it)) That's why the deadlines are a necessary requirement.
You're always welcome to contact me after you finish your project.

As soon as the recipient reads it, it ends up in the Sent Messages folder. The forum works that way.LadyOfGatsby wrote:could I send this to your email instead? It keeps getting sent to the outbox

Re: Sponsorship for projects
I think I may want to contact you when I'm fully done with my current project's script. usually, the scripts are what gets me most of the time so after that is usually a smooth sail
