Ren'Py feature request/suggestion

#1 Post by Tage »

This isn't too important, but if you're ever bored (hah) I've got a feature that I'm used to in other renai games. It has to do with the option that shows text being typed. I know you hate it (lol), but it's a habit for me to use. Usually, when you click to progress when the text is still typing, instead of progressing it shows all the text for that block. And if you click it again, it then progresses to the next text block. I don't know if this is difficult to implement into your engine. I just thought it might be nice for people like me, lol. Again, don't stress yourself over my suggestions, lol. If you don't want to or just simplt can't implement it, I don't think anyone would be disappointed.

This is actually implemented. Look at setting "config.annoying_text_cps". (Although I will admit, I haven't tested it in a while, so it may be broken.)

There's even a preferences option that comes up to let me disable it. :-)

(Test... Test...)

Hm... Looks like the ability to display the text without skipping to the end was broken in a recent rewrite. (I really need to do code coverage testing.)

I'll fix it shortly. Update: Done! I broke it when I added the ui functions.
