Re: Player Interaction in a Story
You're right. They would have been better served as a manga or book. But who cares what it should be. It can still be 'good', even great, regardless. You're simply limiting yourself in what's offered to you. At least KNs offer music to make the reading more atmospheric. And even if it didn't, you sh...

No. Absolutely do not follow Mugen's advice. Do not.
Unless you have a very wide anus, don't even attempt to follow his/her idea.

Re: Coming up with titles...
A title's kind of like the 'lead' in a book. The saying 'don't judge a book by its cover' is a crock of shit false. Everybody does it, and everybody will continue to do it. So I usually don't like to use generators; whatever they come up with might not even fit my story, or I can come up with someth...

@Ruril,
Those are really good. I even had to check my T.V to make sure it wasn't showing signs of sentience.

Re: Your Writing Stats
If I'm writing as I go, with no particular plot in mind, it takes me longer. If I have a plot set in stone, much shorter. I don't know 'per hour', but I've written up to 10-15,000 in a day. That's not really that much considering it's break, and I've ignored my friends for the past three days just t...

Re: How to Not Piss Off Your Readers
Yes, but that's if you're talking about the game overall . Deciding against getting a game because of one aspect, in this case the ending, isn't a good idea. Plus, since there's not really any complains against the first and second game, you should probably play them first. If you enjoy the first an...

Re: Nanolife [NaNoRenO 2012]
I played this with the idea of 'dissecting it for you' in my mind. Then I clicked and clicked and clicked. And I clicked some more. But I couldn't find any flaws, other than my white-knuckled rage at Orion. It was lighthearted, but I wanted to piss on him and spill his gu- Yeah. Um...good game... (M...

Re: How to Not Piss Off Your Readers
You shouldn't decide whether or not to buy a game on other peoples' opinions on the endings. Formulate your own - you may just like it. I wouldn't recommend picking it up unless you've played the first two anyway, or your playing experience will be extremely lowered. Since your choices don't matter ...

Re: How to Not Piss Off Your Readers
Warning: Don't read this if you're easily offended. You'll probably just get pissed off at me. This whole thread is pointless. You're just debating Mass Effect with 'good story telling' as a coverup. Whether the endings appealed to you or not, you're lucky Bioware is even adding new ones. You think ...

Can I be as blunt as possible?
I'd only play this if I was high asfuck a kite.
Good luck, though!

Point taken, I concede.
I can see the comparison to KNs with books, however. Even still, I wouldn't rather a book over a KN.

Re: Player Interaction in a Story
I always word essays and stuff by an extra four million words, but I'm always bad at explaining myself >_< But yeah, I'm talking about POV. Most books are in 3rd, reading about characters. Usually VNs are told in 1st, where you , the reader, is going through the story. I think the VNs that are in 3r...

Re: Player Interaction in a Story
Well, that was a bad way to phrase it. But it's 'different' in that you're still a part of the story, going along with the journey. In books you're usually reading about the character(s).
